The full fat with cup packs was more money than the cup version, but I've no idea how much exactly.

There was a 182 Cup - it was a stripped down version of the regular 182. You're thinking of the the 182 with cup packs on it - like mine! :D

The 182 doesn't have a spare wheel well! The cup didn't have xenons, climate control, auto wipers/headlights (iirc), a half decent stereo, or decent (read half leather) seats.

Yeah I've heard others with this problem. IIRC, it's the weatherstrip around the top of the windscreen, which protrudes slightly, making a whistling sound. You could get a windscreen place to re-seal it for you, or have a go yourself?

Gutted for you matey - it's such a pain in the ar*e when stuff like that happens, but like others have said, try not to blame the gf, and try to ignore some of the less constructive criticism on here :rolleyes:

Good little report that :) Have you made sure that the wiper arm has clicked into place? I sometimes have that problem with universal clips on wiper blades.

TBH jooliona, I think you are worrying about nothing. It's not like you'll be doing a track day - it's just a slow speed parade lap. You'd have to be a total numpty to crash on a parade lap!

Shouldn't wiper blades be replaced anually as a matter of course? I would imagine 2 year old blades are going to be fairly shagged if you do an average yearly mileage? Mine barely last 9 months!

Yeah like others have said the rev range is odd, but the top speed is 160mph. Could it be off a 1.6 16v or something like that? P.S. I'm loving the blue backlighting!

My mate has these flat wipers on his mk5 Golf TDi, and tbh, I thought they were 10 times better than conventional wipers. They're quiet, and they work like a pair of squeegees (sp?). I'll definitely be ordering a pair when the time comes for replacement.

No problemo. Make sure you give it a thorough going over before parting with any cash though! PS. Sometimes the dealers forgot to put the front splitters on, even though the car suppsedly had the cup spoilers!

c9kay: If it has dark grey (anthracite) wheels (as opposed to plain old silver), then it more than likely has the cup suspension pack. If it has a large rear spoiler, and a black splitter below the front bumper, then it has the cup spoiler pack.

That's a bit of a sweeping statement, and not particularly constructive either. People can only learn from their mistakes. You just have to hope that when you make that first mistake you come out ok. We've all been there.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting the effectiveness of the work, just the fully fitted price! I just wish these things weren't quite so pricey.

Sounds like a good idea, but also sounds a touch expensive for what is basically a bit of metal filing. Still, it's something I may well look into getting done early next year.
