As the ph2 doesn't run an idle control valve, I'd guess using a cable throttle tb on a ph2 you would have to sit the butterfly slightly open to regain some sort of idle - unsure that will give a very good idle - then again, most ph1's don't exactly have the best idles anyway lol
Or as fred says...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Cheers Neil, what have you decided with yours? Not seen your thread in a bit
Agreed Steve, it's such a lovely car, and although it's had some bad luck ( with tdf's recent reviews, having companies who you can trust is getting a bit thin on the ground!)...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
LOL!
Well after a VERY long day which included being up half the night with Cady as she is a bit under the weather, getting 3 hours sleep, getting to work at 7:30, working to 12, dropping my brothers car off for a bit of work, then rushing home to get the...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Can't, all my 'spare' cash in now back in the business so I couldn't afford to sell it lol.
Besides, it's the best Ph1 ever :D
Lol thought so - it's very easy to time it right, then after a few rotations for it to be out again.
I'm sure there won't be any damage mate, get the proper tools time it up again and I am sure it will be fine :)
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
I think that shade of red really suited it with the colour - which makes me think the cage being red could be good too...
Saawy :o <3
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Lol!
Will be by the end of the month mate :)
Car will be home this weekend, will update a bit more then - very exited :D
Thinking the wheels need to be red again, and tempted to do the cage red too, a la mini-R26.R lol
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Small update, secured another Ph1 engine, complete with box and inlets etc, collecting them at the weekend as they are just up the road from me.
Still haven't collected the car yet mind :S
Too hard to say mate.
If it has been looked after, not thrashed from cold (ie left a good 15 mins for the oil to warm) and serviced regularly then there is no reason why it won't have it's quoted power.
If it has been abused, then it may have lost power
You can fit a cherry bomb, but be aware mate that most cherry bombs are pretty much just open boxes - there is no design to them - hence why they are very cheap.
They also tend to be universal, which means the fit isn't great, and will end up coming out at a dodgy angle.
So the advise i can...
Ah sorry, I missed you guys are new to track days - having a less grippy tyre is a good thing, gives you a chance to learn the car at a lower speed - in fact on track I much prefere road tyres - I am kinda in the minority but a tyre like a Yoko Prada or even better a G/year Eagle F1 (RIP in...
