Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Fully welcome to mate, I am terribly boring so in alot lol
Actually I have 2 kids so thats the excuse I'm using
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Small update,
I now have a (used) genuine cup alternator to fit, and a new battery as the current one is flat. So we now have everything to get it running again, planning on doing that sometime before now and the end of the weekend, and we shall...
For the budding DIY'er who is stuck without the correct tool to undo the sump plug, I have found out the rectangular bar in between the handles of a house door fits perfectly :o
This is Swindon, (the petrol station just up the road from BMW Mini by the roundabout that leads up to old town) about 30 yards from my mates house, got sent this pic earlier, made me sad :(
Apparently, the Corsa hit a curb and broke something on the steering, causing the crash
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Cheers mate :)
No reason for this picture, just :D
And here is the 'new' engine
Need to tidy the garage up so I can start taking all the bits off it
But surely regardless if they are very good friends or only know each other via a forum, if there was an issue with a product, they would not agree with one another just because they knew one another, but more than they can all see there is a genuine issue? I am sure if say Paul disagreed with...
Surely that could be the other way around too? Plenty of unhappy customers who are not on the forum for any company?
I think the main issue is 3 different mappers have now meantioned the same faults with some of Ktecs maps - now this isn't school, I am sure these mappers are not 'ganging up'...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
lol that was Rob's work, he wasn't far off on the Clio count mind :S
It was a bit odd mate, we pushed the Clio out of Fred's place, out on the road (With Fred doing the hard job of sitting in it :rasp: ) and the heavens just opened! T'was a right...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Damn right, this thread details the full history, can't have this one being forgot ;) so shall be carrying it on :D
I have sourched an alternator, sorting a belt today so will be running again by the weekend, will see how it behaves for a few weeks...
Cheers me dears, she is happy so that keeps me out the dog house lol x
Na, I've had a look at the mech and I can see why the ratchet claw isn't moving back correctly to lock the handbrake, will take me an hour to sort I recon, I've bodged it for now so it works lol.
Yeah no problem mate...
Phil, the issue isn't with ktec, it's just with one specific part of the company. The rest of the company works very well, the issue people have had is with the mapping work
Lol! I'll give it a go, though she blatantly will read this :-/
There are mate, unfortunately it seems a lot are abused :(
I'm looking forward to getting all the bits done on it, it will be a cracking car then
Tbh the more I drive it the more I want to get one for myself lol
I'm not quite sure how they could get out of saying that was acceptable - everyone has an off day - agree with that, but every day shouldn't be an off day...
For the time being Andy, I have my hands full with sorting my Clio, so she at least has a little while before I want to start playing with it lol
Kyle - yup, it will be coming :)
Cheers matey - I still am not 100% sold on the rear end (I like the bumper but the flat rear screen is still growing on me) but the front looks super agressive and still looks fairly fresh even though it's an old car now
Ha, I'm pretty sure claire will keep me away from modding it, unless I...
:rasp: I am very much looking forward to seeing it finished, I will have to come up for a day so you can show me some of your local roads mate, see how our two compare x
Basically yes - it is a big job - a lot of custom parts including driveshafts and engine mounts, plus work either needed to the subframe or inner wings usually to make it fit, as well as a shopping list of other bits
Well having sold Claire's (Utterly fantastic) Golf Tdi Sport to Mike (Scone), we started the look for a new car for her.
With Claire only covering 6k ish a year (with most being local driving, kids at pre=school etc) we were not getting the best out of a diesel, and we wanted to put some money...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
What a day!
Well after borrowing my mates Defender, then my mate dans trailer he uses to tow his drift car about with, me and danlp6 set off from mine this morning on the treck to see Fred.
After arriving at Freds, having a nosey around in the workshop (Seeing...
