you would do alot worse than giving the Federal RSR a try.
the are getting very good reviews for road and track, and are alot cheaper than many of the other alternatives ;)
One of the best in the business is Prestige Wrap, based in London.
His own cars are awesome and had a good chat with Shane a while back about doing my focus in a satin grey colour.
Luckily he lives local to me tho so he would have just collected it.
His ML has been done with an aggressive look...
Kam, No need to save up mate, ready to buy the right items now.
I'm aiming on having the car caged, new panels, interior gutted, suspension sorted and all re-painted by the end of the month if I can pull it off.
Dan, I am hearing very good things about the AST's ;)
I wouldn't be silly to not...
And yes it will be on cut slicks, purchased 8 x 888's Saturday purely for the 15" wheels to use for the rest of this year, so I'm slowly paving the way with the smaller purchases.
The 2 sets of 16" wheels I have (the spare set purchased in error) will be going up for sale by the end of the...
Kam, if I could I would be happy to never use the car on the road again, just purely gut the car of anything it will never need again and make it solely purposeful for the track.
BUT, the reality is that it won't happen, on occasions it will need to be driven to a track as the trailer will be...
I've got the KW V3's on the focus so know they are good, and I'm happy to go for those again if they were the best option for the Clio.
It's just nice to have decent feedback from those that have used the different coilovers, but as said I don't really want to go for the entry level coilovers...
I agree with you buddy.
I changed the pads/fluid/lines etc etc and still didn't have any great confidence within the standard brakes on track, so I binned it all off within days of the cars first track day.
All replaced with 4 pots etc.
Dom, that's a perfect response I was hoping for.
Many thanks mate ;)
I just assume the whiteline ATB should be ARB?
just so im 100% with your way of thinking.
Is there a recomended top mount, i dont want to go as extreme as on the escort where we started removing the front strut...
Hi guys,
I know the coilover question has been done to death, but on searches I'm only finding comparisms on what I'm led to believe to be the entry level coilovers.
What I'd like is to hear feedback from those who are running options from further up the options range.
I'm not so worried...
Ours was the same when we got it, rear felt twitchy on almost any corner, especially if you caught a bump mid way round.
It was suggested to me that the rear shocks are a common problem, even tho there was no direct evidence of them failing when inspecting them.
I replaced them with some...
Russ, The cars don't ring a bell mate, and haven't seen them as yet, but most wont arrive until later today.
We are just fiddling with the car, few tweeks and then a bit of testing for today :)
If I see them, I'll pass on the message for you ;)
I've got them on the focus, they are a good all round tyre for the most part, I just don't have the greatest confidence in pushing them to hard in the wet tho.
As above, I've had endless wheels powdercoated over the years, nothing is ever masked off.
All I would say is to give it 500 miles after fitting them and then just re-check the wheel nuts, then do so again another 500 miles later.
Before you know it the nuts would have cleared the powdercoat...
I upgraded the standard brakes, decent pads, decent fluid and braided lines all round.
Did a track day at Combe and didn't find them very confidence inspiring atall, that much so that I couldn't fully commit in several places and was braking earlier than I felt I needed to just for peace of...
Motul RBF600 is all ive used in all of my cars, its a great product and never let me down.
plus we get good sponsorship thru my friend Jason @ Pace with the Motul products for the TA car, Pace being the main UK importer/distributor for Motul fluid.
we run on our 182 the standard wheels with normal road tyres for daily driving.
but just done a ring trip with one of the sets of 15's and 888's and as said many times previously within this thread, they are insanely awesome in the dry, they are very much confidence inspiring and you get some...
My misses caught the drivers rear qtr on a concrete fencing post on the front of our drive a few weeks back, she was more worried that I'd be annoyed about the car, but it's hardly worth moaning about.
It's a silly accident which is easily put right.
Weve had ours since last November, initially to be the misses daily car, but about 2 weeks back that all started to change.
Just returned from a ring trip and the car was more than competent and begging to be pushed harder and wanting more goodies to be lavished upon it, lol.
Ours has been on a...
and cheers to everyone else, ill give it a go shortly.
and i do agree with the flashing someone, you have to click them on and then click them off rather than just a flick of the stalk.
Cheers :)
because its rapidly becoming a track car (and within a few weeks that will be its only purpose)
it now has a big black strip across the top of the windscreen, so everytime you turn the ignition on it thinks it is dark and put the lights on, even during bright sunshine ;)
