just a quickie please guys.
the lower ball joints on a 182 with cup packs, can these be replaced or is it a complete arm only?
i popped into my local Renault dealership and he said it was an arm only, but i have heard that you can replace the ball joints on there own, but even 2 local...
Hi Guys.
being a little new to the world of Clio parts when removing them i thought i best ask after a little task i gave myself earlier.
i removed the steering wheel on our 182, with the cruise contol buttons.
did it the way i thought would be logical, disconnected the battery, came back...
well, new suspension, 4 pots and sticky tyres on order.
got the bucket seat subframe and seat, new steering wheel and boss etc today aswell.
and just an ecu reflash with the Evolution chips software tomorrow to make it mildly livlier for the time being.
off to the ring next saturday with the...
are you reffering Mark Pewtner before Wenny bought it, or the lad who bought it from Wenny.
i am on the Escort Forum as im a Mod on there since it was set up in 2008.
It's nice to know they are that easy to fit.
I need to order a set once I find a decent price and in stock for immediate delivery.
Any pics buddy :approve:
Gally, I actually broke the Escos 6 months ago and a few bits were paid for over a period of time, the shell itself only finished being paid for on the 1st of July.
The car was a bit of a silly spec, I'd moved my own goal posts to many times and gone to far with it so I had to step back and...
I won't be able to make that mate, we are up at Cadwell Park all of that weekend for round 5 of Time Attack.
Practice and testing on the Saturday and then the event on the Sunday.
She's used to many a stiff car, lol. ;-)
Davo, cheers buddy, I have ford blood most of the time but I love the 182, fettling has commenced, lol.
Gally, racing puma looks good, I've spent years trying to get the misses to go for one.
I really like them.
As above:
For those with the 3/4 height front number plates.
Simple question, where did you get them from?
I want to get one for the misses 182.
Cheers
Kelvin.
Kam, Already have track tyres on the spare wheels buddy.
That's why I want to centre my attention towards the suspension and brakes now.
I love big brakes and it's always been on of my first points of call within most things I do.
Just spotted you are reasonably local to myself aswell...
just a couple of quick questions if some of the knowledgable dont mind helping out please.
will a set of decent coilovers from a 172 cup fit onto my 182 with cup packs, or do they have totally different mounting points, poundage springs etc etc?
also, brakes.
recently fitted Goodridge...
it had been at Brunters the day before for its final full load mapping after it was fully Dyno'd 2 weeks previous.
it was at Brunters that it killed the clutch but it took forever to get the box back in, not the easiest task trying to line up 3 clutch plates without an alignment tool, lol.
it...
the black 182 was possibly mine, it was the only one i saw there.
we were only there for a shake down and test ready for the first round of Time Attack in 3 weeks and because we had never been to Oulton Park (missed that round last year)
Thanks James, I'll bare that in mind.
Next question, how would I find out if the car has cup suspension?
I know it's got cup alloys and front splitter, a friend seems to think it's a normal 182 but has an optional cup pack.
Would this include suspension, or is the suspension the same between a...
doesnt appear to be anyting leaking, but yes at times over rough ground it does have a faint sound of 'bottoming out'.
could well be a good start point, ill get it up on a mates ramp tomorrow and have a good look around and make sure there is no excessive movement in any of the bushes and to...
LOL, my last Renault was a 19 16v Chamade about 15 years ago.
this one is more for the other half, but i do enjopy driving it and have commandeered the keys already ;)
not so worried about spending the money, just £30 a mount seemed expensive compared to a similar part on other cars, hence asking incase i was looking in the wrong place, doh!! lol
glad you said that about the rear shocks, coming home last night from the cinema with the misses i did say that i...
Ive bought a black Clio 182 with a couple of the cup goodies on it, covered 70k and a one owner car.
I'm really enjoying it but a few silly items have got my mind ticking.
The car picks up and goes reasonably well, but as it hits 5k the tone changes and is almost like it's just been given a...
Is there simple reasons as to why they could be wet in the footwell?
Do they suffer with a seal somewhere?
It's a nice price, ie: we can have it at what it's been traded in for.
Obviously we are under no obligation to buy it, but if it's a simple fix then surely there is no reason why we should...
Re put up as it seemed to be moved.
Viewing a 182 Clio cup on an 05 plate, but there are a few things that have my mind ticking, so I'd appreciate a few pointers and opinions please.
Firstly: to me the clutch felt quite heavy, especially in comparism to other cars we drive.
Bite point was...
