With regards to the video, if Fred was in the 172 the 1.2 wouldn't get close. From what i've heard Fred overtook a Lambo in a ph1 172 at Oulton Park. Mind you ph1 172's are the fastest cars in the world, actually no thats a cup ;)
No visible differences between supersport and standard apart from a silencer under the car which would would have to lie under the car to see. The only difference is whether you choose stealth or recessed, then obviously its whether the backbox is visible or not.
Sean from ktec advised me when...
306 GTI's are an awsome car.
With regards to decent mpg I don't so much agree, i'd average 37mpg in the 1.2 around town and 31mpg in the 172. On the motorway 45mpg v 41 mpg its not a great difference. Apart from servicing I'm not finiding running costs to be much worse than my 1.2, tax is 65...
My stealth arrived quickly and i've had no problems with it so far too. Now its bed in properly it sounds realy good too, quiet driving normally and nice when going for it.
My only reservation is that it happens to be realy loud between 70-80mph in 5th. Cruising its not to bad but if you go...
Thats probably because Peugeot make awful cars. The last good car they made was the 106 GTI, all the previous GTI's where also awsome of course.
You need to get back into a Clio mate.
Once the 1.2's are evenually up to 70/80mph they're actually ok at cruising. Its when you end up down to 50mph and need to pull out to overtake a HGV etc your in trouble or when you need to enter a motorway etc.
I much prefare how in the 172 I don't have to work the car anywhere near as hard...
I'd go for it if I where you p4ers, if you can afford it why not. Its a lovely car. It will obviously be a lot different to your modded 172 though. You will be less likely to want to put mods on it too because of the warranty etc.
The fuel guage on my 172 is hopeless. It just randomly moves about, it can be 3/4 one minute and full the next etc. Depends whether your going up hill or down etc.
The digital one in my 1.2 was spot on though.
It rattles a lot more now aswell. Roads up here are definately worse, a lot worse :(
Its stable though, very stable even at up to 120 jellybeans. I think it is just the roads, but i'm sure Ryan will shed some light on it.
Get some Vmax coilies. They're all the rage on here at the minute, dirt cheap and a good reputation.
This time last year nobody on this site would touch anything other than the big names now half the site is on Vmax and KTR coils, and they're happy with them.
Thats why I screwed mine on because if they get nicked it causes a lot of inconvenience and you have to get new plates, can't drive the car without them etc.
For a track car or if your running illegal plates then velcro is better so you can remove them easily.
Good point. After say 6900rpm you can realy feel the power drop off. Not so much in 2nd because its a lower gear but in 3rd I can defrinately feel it.
A lot of standard 172's that have been on the rollers make their max power at around 6800rpm iirc.
Edit: As the post above says it can be...
