Also, with regards to the front bumper, red is probably the most common colour for an MX5 so hold out until you find a good one without any holes! I'm currently filling ELEVEN number plate holes in mine FML!!
Happy days! Easy peasy isn't it!
While you've got the dash apart it's worth taking the arm rest off and having a look what kind of condition the gear stick boot is in. Chances are that it's fubared, which will allow heat and noise into the cabin. Needs one of these...
350 or 330. My standard steering wheel was actually smaller than normal steering wheels at 350 (they're usually about 370ish) I've now got a 330mm dished Nardi and it's perfect! So go for 330mm and get a slightly dished one if you can, the dish will help with legroom massively!
Colour coded sills don't look right due to the height of the front and rear bumper IMO. Unless you're going to colour code the front lip, I'd leave them black.
No worries. Any issues or anything feel free to ask. I'm on my fourth one now!
Don't bother painting them the same colour as the body. It's too hard to get a good colour match and IMO it doesn't look as good anyway. Tin of satin/gloss black hammerite, mask it off and job's a good 'en.

Took about ten minutes!
BTW, feel free to have a flick through the pictures I have of it.

Have to give all credit to renclio as he made it what it was TBF!
Probably 2011? Can't really remember tbh. It's probably a good thing that I sold it anyway as the car I replaced it with got stolen and torched! So glad it wasn't this car!
Yeah, engine felt really strong, gearbox was cracking and it handled brilliantly. Strangely felt very planted - especially when 106's are known for being tail happy. It's a great little car!
Bloody hell, must have been 2011 when I sold it! Exhaust fell off when I had it, but it was fine other than that. Had a new passenger side hub iirc and some arb drop links, and possibly track rod ends, can't remember now! Oh and I renewed the gearbox oil too. Owned it for around 6 months before...
Yeah, TBH even the standard setup was more than enough to stop the thing, I just liked how big the 206 brakes looked behind the tiny wheels. How many miles is it on now? Think I sold it on roughly 80k
Wow, awesome to see it on the forum again. Was absolutely mint when I bought and owned it. Seriously, properly mint. The only car I've ever really regretted getting rid of.
Make it standard again ffs!
Interesting that someone has upgraded the already upgraded brakes though...
Had essentially...
Yeah, I don't think it'd last too long... TBH just the sensation of dropping a cog or two and planting it won't get boring for a while with the noise etc!
If it's anything like an mx5, you can adjust idle on the throttle body and this stops revs drooping when you lift off completely. Obviously it isn't anything like an MX5, so I've no idea if that applies here.
Cracking progress anyway Ed!
Looks awesome! I've driven three now, and every time I get out I want one really bad! Just terrified of what tends to go wrong. Shame as they're great fun for a fwd hatchback!
