If he's happy with the car the power figure means f**k all. I once used well lanes dyno and the 182 with a remap showed over 200hp yet on a more accurate dyno the true figure of 186! Rolling road figures are b****cks, unless you have a reliable before and after (within the day) they are not work...
Essentially mate it's a clio the same as yours with a bigger engine. If all goes wrong you could get a complete engine and box for 150-200 so no big deal ;)
Because for a start it will be a pig to wire in and you will have no support at all. This is designed for the jap market and probably won't work correctly on an european car. The sensors are different. And seen as the stock ecu is mappable what's the point?

Unless you treat it like s**t then it will be fine. Only problem you tend to see is the circlip coming out on the box, make sure the belt has been done and make sure the one you buy is fairly quiet from cold. Some sound like tractors!

The ECU in the V6 MK2 is a Bosch ME7.6.4 and you will NOT connect to it with custom code as this is designed for VAG cars running Custom Codes's software.
I can sell you an interface which will communicate with the Vee but it's not cheap!

Here is an actual test done on a 182 with full SS catback and a badly fitted viper IK! As i always say forget the actual figure just look at the gains, each run was within 30 mins of each other...
No this is VAG-COM diagnostics used for VAG cars and only for diagnostic.
You will 100% not find an interface on ebay that will talk to the clio!
Cheers

I assume by on the fly you mean live? If so you need an eeprom emulator, soldering skills (44 pin surface mount chip inside), software to correct the checksumms in realtime and ALOT of skill/knowledge
