How long have you owned your Clio?

Had my mk2 ph 2 172 for just over 4 years 48k when sold on the clock and no major problems . Waited for the mk 3 to come out and didn't like the shape so i got a new 182 in Feb 06 . I'll most likely keep it until it's time for the cambelt change and then consider my options .

My 172 failed its 2nd MOT on a seized front brake caliper , brake imbalance they call it . Total b*llocks . There was fcuk all wrong with the brakes . They also gave me a list of things that needed doing that came to the grand total of £484 . Rip off merchants imo . That was at Nationwide...

182 trip computers....How accurate are they!?

I don't think they aren't that accurate tbh . Try the little trick with the button on the end of the stalk , check how much fuel you have left then go and fill up and check again . I've done it loads of times were i've checked how much was in the tank before filling up , filled up and then added...

    Peeling Lacquer!!!!

Probably just back to the good lacquer where its not peeeling . I'd take it to a small back street bodyshop and see what they say . It probably won't cost that much .

    Shaking steering wheel

When you fit new discs , sometimes they run out a bit as they aren't always perfect . Moving them round 180 degrees sometimes helps .

    Shaking steering wheel

Well its only about a fiver to get each wheel balanced , so i'd go down that route first personally . Always start with the more obvious and cheapest option imo .Process of eliminination and all that ;)

    my dads new recaro's :):)

Look good mate .They've come up really well now they've been cleaned . Why people can't be arsed to clean them before they put them up for sale is beyond me . They did look a bit worse for wear when they were advertised on ebay . I bet they would have gone for more money if they had just taken a...

    Shaking steering wheel

Could be the discs thowing out the balance . I'd get my wheels checked for balance like i said . Or try moving the discs round 180 degrees , see if that helps .Sometimes when you fit new discs the don't always run true .

    Some eBay people suck!!!!

Well he does state " example photos " , but on the other hand it does say its a Pioneer and nowhere does it state its the american version . I'm a bit baffled as well , as 172.com says , radio waves are radio waves . If it's definitely not working report it to ebay , thats all you can do...

    who's got the cheapest insurance?

Quinn direct told me they don't insure 1*2's anymore . Two people could have indentical details , age , years driving , ncb etc .... one in a good post code one in a bad post code and the quotes will vary massively .

    drying car Q's

Tbh mate . The german applicator ( the red and white one ) is just as good as the sonus but for a third of the price :)

    drying car Q's

I prefer the german applicators or sonus applicators over the little yellow foam pads . You can work the polish harder and they are easier to hold than the little yellow foam pads . http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/accessories/ultimate-german-applicator/prod_280.html...

When i bought my 182 from new i had top it up a few times in the first couple of months , changed the oil for silkolene at 4k and never needed to bother since . So i'm happy with the silkolene . Each to their own i guess :)

    Rear Badges

The clio badge clips into 2 holes . The Renault and sport badge are stuck on with double sided sticky foam . You can't buy the anthracite paint in aerosols . The nearest match i found was rover storm grey . But i remember Fred saying Audi nimbus grey is a good match .

    Door Badge - Part Numbers?

The part number is the same for both sides 8200072241 . The only differentiating marks are a capital D and the word " plan " on the drivers side badge . On the passenger side badge it has a capital G . I'm assuming that G = Gauche ( left in French ) and that D = droite ( right in French )

    engine oil in 172/182's

Silkolene Pro S 5w-40 for me as well in my 182 , not cheap but supposedly one of the best . I always used Comma Syner-G 5w-40 fully synthetic in my 172 , its only about £28 for 5 litres whereas the silkolene is around £50 , but i got mine cheap from http://www.opieoils.co.uk when there was a...

    Best Products BY HAND

Tbh i'd stick with the srp and egp combo . Use a german applicator for the srp or a sonus applicator , it gives a slight cut to the paint , better than just using a normal applicator imo . http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/accessories/sonus-sfx-pro-applicators-pkg/2/prod_31.html...
