Just think though, the more fresh new parts you have on it, the sweeter it'll be to drive. I'd be changing things like bushes anyway tbh, unless they've been done fairly recently?
I don't particularly have a long-term plan for it, I'm just trying to finish off building it for now. After I can call it 'done' who knows; might get a silly engine, might get sold/broken for parts. Depends how fed up of it I am!
I'd like to think it'll see a track at some point next year...
It won't take a weekend. Probably 30 minutes with a blowtorch, hammer and chisel.. lol!
It's just one of those things I've not got round to sorting yet annoyingly.
Coilovers are seized currently. But I think even when we get them loose and all the way down to the bottom, it's still going to be very high. So I'll be ordering some shorter Faulkner springs when I know how big they need to be. I'm just enjoying the way it drives at the moment though, it's...
I am at the moment, back Saturday though.
It's running brilliant at the moment, new throttle cable has worked wonders! Throttle response is out of this world. Literally.
Massive spacers and shorter, stiffer springs. Not tried with the coilovers yet - I need to have another day on it with Seb just fixing little bits and bobs. New brake lines are going to be needed too, desperately!
Got 4 new tyres fitted today, so I had a bit of a play around with the wheels since they were off the car trying to make them sit where I want them along with the ride height.

Ends up being cheaper to buy 3 tins at once rather than 1 tin three times. It tells you underneath the price, anyway.
Good to know you've got a fairly solid shell then! Would be a bit of a nightmare if everything was just rotten under there..
If you're going to underseal it rather than spray it, I'd use that stuff I had - absolutely brilliant tbh!
The thing for me was the sound it made rather than the actual volume. I think it was Turkish who said earlier in this thread that it sounded like a leaf blower, which is spot on really.
Must have done 1000 miles in it since the shell swap now and the only thing that's really letting it down is...
It's still not low.
Just ticked over to 120K and it's running fine. Pretty sure the brakes are binding slightly as there's a fair bit of drag going on. Got 30.1MPG over the last 260 miles too, which isn't great... Meh. Need a proper exhaust too, heard it from outside for the first time today...
lol!! I live in Salford Quays, so pretty much exactly where I saw you. Was in a red MX5 with a white rear bumper if you remember. Looks a bit of a shed at the moment :o
