Its up to you really, personally the stuff scares me. Ive used stop leak on a cooling system before on a megane to good effect. Its sill leak free now 2 years on, but still i don't like the stuff even if it works.

If its got full Renault history then i would imagine the belts have been done twice as lets face it old people always pay out on their cars. Hes given me the number for the Renault dealer where its been serviced all its life to confirm everything. Also a new service book has been ordered ready...

I would regret it like the last £800 52plater I had lol. It will be hanging for that money. By the time you've sorted it out, belts, servicing and tidying it up it would owe you 2k I reckon. If it had under 100k on the clock I would have had it.

The 1.6 RSI mk2 ph1 always felt quite quick to me, then the ph2 never felt as quick, strange.

Drove it tonight, it's actually alright, no knocks and bangs. Didn't feel to much of a jippo either. Forgot how good the a/c is in the lagunas. ​Insurance cost me £218 for the year aswell lol

You get good ones and bad ones, looked after one with Renault history are normally alright, its the ones that have never seen the dealers that are fuked.

Im sure the head rebuild came to just over 2k with the proper labour time and all parts. Boxes are pure luck really, we have done a few but not masses. Not sure on the price side of things.
