340lbs front, 280lbs rear is fitted to Hipermax II's, which are just an updated version of mine afaik. Can easily get length/width measurements by taking them off the car I guess!
And yeah, even Sebs white car was miles lower than this thing. That's what I'm so puzzled by!
Yep!
Ooo thanks, I'll do some research.. Might have to go on what the newer models are, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info on the ones I have.
Yeah, they're a good 10/15 years old, so an old design. They'll certainly do for now though, and I guess I could look into different springs in the mean time. Only thing is, HKS have long stopped providing any parts (other than the top mounts) and as far as I know don't rebuild them anymore...
Hmmmm, I think I'll see how low it goes with them both in then. Don't want to have to weld anything, I'd be better off buying different coilovers at a later date tbh considering these will still be worth a fair chunk.
I know how to adjust them. I'm saying could I take the smaller bottom locking ring off completely and wind the top ring all the way to the bottom of the thread and try to wedge it in? Or perhaps add the smaller ring on top of the large ring to tighten it - the opposite of how it is now.
Would...
It's just getting them loose that I'm worried about. But yeah, cheers for the advice!
This is what I'm up against:

Not much adjustment left, as you can see. Unless there's a way of taking the lower adjuster ring out and making sure the big one doesn't move?
It'll obviously go a bit lower, but I don't think its going to make a massive difference. I'd love to be surprised, but looking at how high it's at now and the amount of adjustment left on the coilovers, its not going to be anything like as low as I want it to be.
They actually look quite...
Just ordered some JDM plates and a Fabia splitter as a temporary solution until I see how low it goes and then I can decide on whether to go with a G.V lip or a Mazda R lip (massively in favour of the OEM R lip at the moment, but they're just so much money!)
I'd prefer it if there were more 'normal' cars included. Nothing better than hooning around some amazing roads in a car you could actually own one day...
I hope they include the MK1 MX5 again. lol
I agree, but it's getting them low that's the issue now. Need a pair of C-spanners the right sizes. Tried with Sebs HSD spanners, but they're far too big!
Many many hammers have been used in creating this abortion. Along with two angle grinders and plenty of discs.
It's such a shed and it's better for it IMO.
I don't know... I'll be surprised if it moves at all. It's just hovering at constant height. F**king thing.
<3
You should see the state of the sill after I jacked it up (Which I wouldn't have done, but I couldn't fit the jack under anywhere else and I know what's going to happen to the shell...
I've not got a f**king clue. The heights on the coilovers haven't changed since they were on Sebs white car, and it's a good inch or two higher than his was. Even factoring in smaller wheels etc.
I just don't know. Might be something to do with the wishbones/subframes being set wrong... but I...
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS CAR.
Fitted the front HiperD coilovers the other week, thought I'd give it chance to settle (They're about 15 years old, they aren't settling anymore, who am I kidding?!) a bit on them before admitting that IT WILL NOT GO LOW.
There's about 2 or maybe 3 inches left on...
You'll still be able to upgrade the suspension, but it'll all be upgraded to a default setting - you can't alter exactly how low you have it, it'll just be a set amount lower/stiffer than standard. That's the way I understand it anyway. But yeah, does sound dumbed down a bit.
