Excellent Valver that mate. Its in mint condition, no rust atall but that will be due to the good weather you get in Portugal.
156bhp is good aswell, must be a good strong engine, especially after the rebuild.
Good read that.
The poor standard exhaust note is why so many owners add aftermarket systems then they sound very good imo.
When you say about the lack of torque being like a 1.2, have you driven a 1.2 recently? All of the 1*2's i've been in, have felt 10 times more torquey than a 1.2...
That Kieran23 is an idiot, going on about how great his 1.25 Fiesta is.
"The thing is my 1.25fiesta zetec mk5, no less can out handle pretty much anything i come up across when im driving, but thats down to the driver."

However with a good set of coilovers, the 172 will be ahead of the others because there isn't realy a great deal of difference.
I'd also consider a remap, matched inlets and decat for your 172. It will...
The lack fo heat thing sounds expensive though Ian, because it rules out the fuse option.
Also Ian, as Joe says the belts will cost a couple of hundred quid if not done.
£1400 sounds good but it could need a fair few £100 spent on it.
