thats true, the lovely wet weather here in the uk might not help the exhausts rotting. mine was 2 years old and had 3 holes in it! give it a check over for leaks, thick rust etc. if it has a leak you might aswell stick an aftermarket system on there to be honest.
i have a miltek (like...
i bet all standard 182 exhausts will be full of holes and rotten by now. best to just replace the whole system from the cat back. the one you liked the look of in the pic is a miltek. the rim on them is still quite thick tho.
you could just cut the tailpipes off and weld new ones on, yes, but...
you can jusst pull them out but you will be left with quite a lot of glue residue i would think. if you heat it up as you take them off it will melt the glue slightly then you just wipe the rest away with white spirit etc.
yeah easily a weekend job. took me about 3.5 hours to get mine spotless...
it will look much better. nice looking car, its just the tints letting it down imo.
i removed my tints last year on my bg 182. made a huge improvement to the look of the car. only thing is it gets a lot hotter in the car in the summer now. the tints were supprisingly easy to remove, hairdryer...
if you are able too tom ;) my old one on your dci looks great! i did quite like the look of my car with a taped up splitter tho and other things falling off/rattling and held on with cable ties and insulation tape!
the yellow bits make the car look cheap. would have looked far better all matt black with just the ferrari decals, and maybe at most (if he had to have the stripes) a ghost outline 10mm thick in gloss black.
thanks :)
yes, they are ultraleggera's in 16". really like them. was thinking of changing to 15" either 2118's, f1's or ultraleggera's just for cheaper tyres but im not sure what the arch gap will look like.
nice. seems strange seeing a gordini in any colour but blue!
keep an eye on the east anglia section in local meetings. we have some meets in the peterborough with good turnouts.
i spend a lot of time in stamford so i will prob spot your car around town :)
remove fuel rail guard then you will see if its stamped or not.
mine is an rs stamped one and i have had it matched. the people that did it said it was worthwhile doing it. not had it back on the rr yet tho. matched inlets are a fairly small gain and rs matched inlets will be a smaller gain. i...
nice pics tom! was a great turnout again even tho a few people couldn't make it.
here are some of my pics. not very different to tom's tbh.
thanks to everyone for showing up and making it a good day...
i had my cat exit opened up to 2.5. main reason being is that the centre section on my miltek had collapsed so i replaced the section with a 2.5" pipe welded straight on to the cat. does away with that stupid leaking v shape join too :) not noticed any power loss at all.
this is my thread on...
much smoother power curve too. looks good results to be honest. i would be happy.
i think people are getting confused besause they are not reading the graphs, they are just looking at the 'max hp' on the top right of both graphs
luke!!! at last! :)
cheers for the drive in the cup tonight, the steering wheel feels much much better than the standard one. really tempted to gety one now.
look forward to seeing the cup in the daylight at the meet on sunday.
