Word from me an MOT tester.....
No cat is required legally but your car must meet the emission limits simple as that.
Most cars wont pass the test without a cat anyway unless your really lucky!
And yes I will fit my cat on for when I mot my car, then remove it afterwards.
Thats all it...
I suppose thats the best bit about driving an image-less car like the Clio.
You simply cant lose.

Did the badges just have "CUP" on them or "CUP 182"?
Like the cup 172 but with cup 182?
You could always use the CUP part from the badges I have below

You should be able to replace the original ones with the uprated speakers and refit the original speaker grill.

As to doing a conversion only worthwhile if you have a donor car, to expensive otherwise.
Oh and I can get the hella kits, if anyones interested let me know will need to know what type of bulb you have H1 etc.
Prices from around 300 up...
To fix the alarm fault they will need to contact Cobra, the fault is known and there is a solution for it.
As to knocking from front loads of stuff it could be, but a tech note has been released about this today.

Just got a tech note today from Renault regarding this and its exactly as I said, its down to the brake light switch.
Tell the dealer to set it up using the clip so that the brake lights come on with less than 1 - 3 bar brake pressure in the system.

Thats what causes it, tell the dealer as they might not be aware of this problem, or you could even have a go...
