Having owned both 172 and 182's mate and driven 1.2's and 1.4's i can safely say that they do seem to brake better . As i said , its because they only have tiny little engines ;) so there's fcuk all weight to stop :rasp:
I suggest you ask a grown up if you can have a go in one , thats if...
I've had a few courtesy cars , clio 1.2's , 1.4's and the brake always feel a bit sharper . I think its something to do with having alot less weight in the engine compared to the 172 / 182's .
ooops sorry mate , didn't know it was you selling them .How come your selling em , have you gone for upgraded ones ? I guess if there's only 1/2 a mm wear on em they would be a good buy .
Tbh mate i wouldn't touch second handbrake discs . The ebc ultimax pads are just standard replacement pads . I'd rather go for the greenstuff if i was buying any .
Sounds alright the one you posted Maz . He's probably out raggin' the arse off it before he sells it , lol . Like ya say , cambelts been changed but i'd need to see a receipt to prove it .Private seller so i would try to get him down by at least £300 , always try and find a fault when viewing a...
5th one down looks ok . Personally i wouldn't want to go much higher than 40k miles .Being from a trader and if he's paying cash i would think he might struggle to knock the price down , all depends how much profit margin the garage has to play with and if he's had in in stock for a long while ...
Can't you get somebody to give you a hand , changing the discs ( if they need doing which i very much doubt ) and pads is dead easy . Get a haynes manual , same principle for all discs and pads .
I'd give ya a hand but your a few hundred miles away , lol .
Just renewed mine last week with Adrian Flux , the renewal quote went up £125 from last year , full no claims , no points .
Got a quote off privilege online so Adrian Flux beat it , got it down from £595 to £430 , £40 cheaper than last year plus lower excess and unlimited mileage :)
Ring...
Tbh Maz you can take some of the descriptions with a pinch of salt . The seller wants to sell the car , wants people to view the car , so they won't usually list the bad points , dents , scratches , general wear and tear etc .... until you see them in the flesh then its hard to tell what the...
Get a vernier caliper on em mate . Minimum thickness for front discs is 21.8mm . No way should they be worn down after just 11k unless you've got something seriously wrong with your calipers . They are 24mm when new .Ask them why they need changing , how worn are they i.e what thickness they are...
When you get the rear brake discs , make sure they have the abs ring and already have the wheel bearing pressed in , or you'll have to get your old ones pressed out and put in the new discs .
They are expensive where ever you buy them from , alot more than the front discs . Yozzasport is...
Just on that page Maz ??
I'd go for the ph1 34k with the full service history .£3,995 and a private seller so i'd say you could get a good couple of hundred pounds off the asking price . Any traders at those prices would be pretty reluctant to drop the price imo .
I've had it on a couple of weeks now in various guises , so the weathers been pretty hot and its definitely no worse than the standard air box and panel filter , still pulls as hard .Plus the k+n cone filter has a slightly larger surface area than the panel filter , don't know if this makes a...
I prefer the drive of my ff182 with cup suspension than my old ff172 , on an every day basis orwhen givin' it some . Plus the exaltos feel alot better than the contis especially round corners at higher speeds .
Sand it down , degrease it first with some panel wipe and maybe use a tack cloth to clean off any powder from sanding , then use plastic primer first before the top coat .

Tbh i'm not sure that the Gen 2 are that good . It still has the top open to the heat , it would be better if it was fully enclosed .
Heres a bit of a prototype i've made using a k+n cone filter and a homemade fully enclosed heat shield . It uses both the oe cold air feeds , has a nice...
