Ok since buying my valver, it has always had horriffic bump steer!!
going over bumps or uneven roads, the car pull violently in either direction,
happens the least when accelerating and can happen easily when braking.
since buying the car i have replaced,
Shocks
Ball joints
Wishbone bushes...
What would refurbing it entail? And how good would it come up??
I'm more tempted to get it wrapped tbh, if the end result would look nicer!
I'm quite close to kent tbh, how long would you need the bonnet for? And how much is your fees lol?
i found the problem later that evening,
one of the pads had disappeared!
very strange tbh, but ive installed new pads and made sure everything is where its supposed to be down there!
not a big fan tbh,
i like
the wheels,
the stance,
and the seats,
i dislike
the stickers
showcages
lack of headlights
exhaust
making it look like a track car when its got very little go
your friends car in it's entirety
but its your car,
and your clearly not going to be removing the...
ill have a go at polishing it,
but the blemishes look like theyre below the laqure,
looks like its in the resin like its been applied badly!
i dont really want to spend silly money on cosmetics tbh so getting it professionally restored/painted isnt really an option,
there are many more...
can this be done to a valver bonnet??
and before anyone flames me, the bonnet is carbon fibre,
its just gone very very dull (i was offered it at a price i really couldnt refuse)
after feeling how light it is, i really want to use it over my standard bonnet with has to be held on by bonnet...
pics of new mods should be up soon!!
my mate took some lovely ones last night that i need to get off him!!
its not so bad lol, those pads needed doing sooner or later!!
i was there most of the night, went up and down the strip a few times,
but then my car decieded to spit one of the rear pads out so i decieded to go home lol
I was driving tonight and all of a sudden I go to brake and they're incredibly soft, the pedal goes all the way to the floor before I get any braking!
So I pull over to look for leaks and such and see nothing, five minutes pass and my friend tries the pedal, its completely back to normal...

The tesco in lakeside retail park, meets meant to be half 10 bt ill be there earlier,
And I'm not meeting there, I don't know where it is, and its probs out the way!
i lowered mine 60mm on standard shocks,
was absolutley fine mate,
then i lowered it 80mm on standard shocks,
they began to suffer!
springs wont really give you any performance gains though,
shocks will give you gains!
ooh i nearly missed this!!
ill defs be getting mine out to show off the new mods tonight if people are meeting up!!
though i will be doing NO spirited driving!!
see ya there peepyhoes!
tbh, i dont like southend anymore
its cold and dank and very few people actually go there anymore!
ill be over lakeside tonight,
either in my car, or my mates golf,
its a lot better than southend, id recommend it!! lol
and if you see a mk1 clio with a carbon bonnet about, give me a beep!
they on the track arms (duh)
ive managed to get the locking bolt looose,
but cant seem to budge the rod end from the track arm!!
is there any tips to doing this??
or shall i use heat and patience??
thanks
alex
all 3 wouldnt go at once!!
id be incredibly suspicious and take the car back tbh, look over it yourself, its pretty easy to see if the clutch and driveshaft have gone!
and 2 weeks to get parts??
since the shaft and box need to come out anyway for a clutch change, the labour shouldnt be too...
As above really,
i have a carbon bonnet, but i want to convert to bonnet pins for quick and easily removal.
however i dont really want to be drilling/cutting straight into carbon fibre because im scared of splitting it!
tbh, if youre looking to go low, 60mm isnt really enough,
best bet is to get the budget coilovers off ebay,
theyre even easier to fit that springs and you can have it at any ride height you like!
90 for springs + 90 to fit
or 200ish for coilovers and if yourself!
id be on this,
dying to know that kinda power shes pumping!

i can do a full set of clio springs in about an hour,
and thats with no ramp, regular tools,
and im far from a trained mechanic!
do it yourself man, its a very simply job,
or pay a garage top for £50 to do just the front (and do the backs yourself)
or pay no more than 70 for the full job!
atm, im going to run the valver track for this summer,
but am very tempted to go down the 172 engine/track this winter/next year
to run 172 brakes you need 172 hubs
which require 172 shocks and full track with steering rack, wishbones, and arb no????
