Re: 172 in a mk1, Superfastdan's very very long project....
Love that grey mate, suits the mk1 so well, too bad there are not many mk1's in that colour left :(
Re: Which model Clio do you prefere and why?
Clutch on Duf is heavy - but then it's uprated. My last Mk1 had a new clutch and cable in and the pedal was pretty light, as most they get stiffer and worse feeling with age
Easiest way is let the bodyshop put it into Renault/specialist and diagnose the fault - if they find trapped/broken wires or something along those lines then the bodyshop pay, if it was a coincidence and it's another issue unrelated then you pay mate
Re: 172 in a mk1, Superfastdan's very very long project....
Lol! Mines leaking through the switch (Thats right, electric sunroof ;) ) though plan is to cut the roof off to get rid of the f**king thing!
I will be interested to see what yours is like when it's done Dan - even though iv seen...
Re: 172 in a mk1, Superfastdan's very very long project....
Fingers crossed it will get done before Wales mate, if I can be of any assistance/get in the way let me know x
Forget the Superchip mate, get a decent custom remap.
With around a grand budget I would get:
Some sort of stainless echaust (The standard one rusts away after 5 minutes) £350 ish
Matched inlet manifolds (The inlets come in 2 pieces and are rarely well matched) £160 ish
Clio Ph1 172 airbox...
Thats the upper engine mount (Picture is small as im on my mobile) shouldn't be any different as far as im aware
Speak to Wests Renault on here, see if you can get it cheaper
Brilliant, puts my mind at ease as I was unsure!
Yup, cambelt done (Was a good job as idler pulley was about to s**t itself - when I span it it sounded like a skateboard lol) and found that the manifolds cracked which is where the blowing is coming from, but thats being sorted before Llandow :)...
Think the height is spot on now Dan, or shall it come up a little more? I can't quite make my mind up
(Oh, no idea on the colour, it's my dads mates lol)
A few pictures of Duf with the new rear ride height.
Although it might not look like it's come up much, the sill heights now give a slight rake (Just as Clio's like) and to me looks much better:
And one with a friends car:
