You're not an idiot mate, we all have to start out somewhere, just don't fit that restistor! Most resistors trick the ECU into thinking the car is constantly cold - this is because when cold, cars run rich, it helps warm the car up faster. The idea behind it is to add more fuel to compensate for...
the chip will change your AFR - a car can run and accellerate ok with AFR's at a dangerous level - Unless you have the equipment to read AFR's the only way you will know it is dangerous is when your engine fails!
I can't believe people can skimp on cheap s**tty chips when you are talking about...
Fuel rail cover is held on by 2 10mm nuts, bit fiddly but a small socket and extension will do it.
TB has 4 bolts holding it on, it does have torque settings, but I have always nipped them up and have had no issues, just don't overtighten them - how come you are removing the TB mate?
Suppose it depends on the cams though Jon, a standard 7R yes, pulls lovely from idle right up to the rev limiter, but the OP stated cams, so im guessing it will be a little flatter at lower revs? All depends on what cams and what they are timed to I suppose
Yes, you can buy the rack mounts - bit of a fiddle to fit, but can be done without removing anything, and made a good difference to my steering after I changed minw
IMO the F4R would be a better option.
The F4R would also drive a bit nicer as it will be a standard engine ,and have more scope for tuning.
The 7R is still a great lump though, and there won't be much between the 2 you have listed, but you would need a remap on the 7R, not a Williams chip
I have to say, they are actually alright.
The Bravarias 2 are Barums 'sport' tyre, and yes Barum are owned by Continental.
Although a budget tyre, if I had to buy a cheap tyre it would be a barum. They grip pretty well, and they are quite soft, so do offer good grip, and break away gently.
So...
with the experience I have had a ph1 172 airbox with a silicone bend offers good noise with no performance loss, and you can pick them up cheaply in the F/S section
You have given yourself the answer - mapping is IMPORTANT. In very basic terms, if you fit the shitty chip, worst case is your engine will either get too much or too little fuel, and end up a big paperweight.
It's up to you on the air filter dude, id personally not fit it
