it should 58mm,
in experience its only 8v engined clios of both ph1 and ph2 that have the 52mm spacing,
easiest thing to do it either take a wheel off, or put it on full lock,
and measure! middle of the bottom bolt, to the middle of the top!
glad you like it dude :)
and BIF,
theyre...
thanks guys! this makes me happy lol,
ive tried to find a suitable compromise between level sills, and arch gap,
unfortunatley, ive found an issue today which may mean it needs to be raised :(
but i will need to ponder upon the matter first.
also i like the splitter, it gives it that "f**k...
quite a few people on here have done it, and no failures so far.
the bolts that hole the drum on are pretty long,
so long as you do the bolt up to the correct tightness i dont see why it would be unsafe.
and mine passed an MOT, but i wouldnt accept any liability if it did fall off.
its not the model of clio that makes the difference, its the distance between hub bolts, on the very low spec (mine :D) its 52mm, and 58mm on all the other (except 1*2).
Vmax do the coilover in 52mm for 399, but thats the cheapest i found,
full conversion cost around 300, that included the...
wheels are 15" 7j, with 165/50/15s on bit of stretch,
i did have camber on the rear reyes, but i thought it looked broken so took it off,
its on rokkor coilovers £168, for just the coilovers,
but they only do them in 58mm so a hub conversion was necessary,
i do want to smooth the...
took a little drive all over today,
not that many speedbumps where i live, and most of them are really long so only the splitter hits,
and loosing the splitter is an occupational hazard!
Finally on coilovers,
Maybe a bit too low for some peoples tastes, but I love it!
and believe it or not, only the splitter catches the floor, no tyre scrubbage either! win!
Bearing in mind one wheel is in the gutter!
And a couple more,
Plans are to get some silvervisions and...
thinking about it, i still need to sort the yellow fog light covers out, and adjust the coilies until im 100% happy with them,
sounds like you have your work really cut out there, good luck!
people from my area are convoying up, i meant alone in my car, hate driving to shows alone, plus i...
I bloody hope so! i was let down when i was visiting my sister in southampton and coincidently wandered past your uni house! steel wheels and high suspension FTL!!
the work for mine has already begun! going to clean it saturday and get an early night!
BIFCAIDS are you going to be at FCS...
coilies are the way forward dude,
i bought lowering springs,
then cut them basically in half to get low enough,
the ride was dire sitting on bumpstops, really bouncy until a certain height, then crash to a stop lol,
as said, get the rokkor ones!!
S23 and Tom46 are you both going to FCS...
Yup it does work, annoyingly i can now see that you dont need to change the callipers and discs lol,
tbh, after buying brake fluid and the new bolts ill need it probs wont be much cheaper than vmaxx, however, the better brakes will make for a more fun drive!
And in total, it took 2 days, but...
some punctuation would come a miss lol,
but tbh, i dont really think its the coilovers to blame for that, have to tried raising it to the same height as standard suspension and seeing if it still makes the noise??
surely if it's scrubbing, there would be scrub marks?? and odd wear on hte...
My thoughts exactly lol,
however, im not loving the departure time, will mean getting up around half 4! :(
I think simon1 needs to be taken off, just seen his tickets for sale :(
tips on getting the track rod end off the hub, all it seems to do when i undo it, is spin the bolt on the ball joint.
I and not actually unscrew,
probs because the thread on the end is abit rusty.
how are you meant to get the nut off without using an impact gun??
thanks
£25 for a set of FCS tickets,
next sunday,
joint the essex cruise up there!
sorted!
lol welcome mate,
good choise in club so long as you can laugh at yourself and arn't a chav!
Didnt want to pay so much money buying Vmaxx coilovers for my car, since its only a 1.2, i wast wanted to go looww,
i set about converting my car to the 58mm hubs,
needed,
hubs
callipers
pads
discs
COILOVERS!
heres a pic of everything i collected!
Rokkor coilovers (£168)
Callipers...
unless you're going for a proper system, id stay sealed,
more often than not, ported enclosures need to be a lot bigger than the sealed equivelant. and ports need to be a certain size and length to acousticly amplify certain speakers.
if you're good at box making, and dont mind the room then...
Has anyone got any good tips on how to remove the hub from the ball joint,
im having a hard time doing it, i can get the nut off,
but the bolt seems well and truley in there :(
any hints would be grand!
theyll probs fit, might not be too snug though
but even if they did you'd only get two springs, (hence the price)
90-98 clios had tortion bar on the back, and no springs.
so unless you're going for the nose down look, i'd stick with the later.
