    Insurance - Sorry!

If you are the registered owner then in the eyes of the law you are the owner, if your dad bought it you as a present on finance the car would be yours, so its no difference to you paying for it through your dad.

    Clio 172 at 18 paying £2400 tpft . sound about right ?

If someone hits you your covered as there insurance pay, only if u hit somebody your not.

    Clio 172 at 18 paying £2400 tpft . sound about right ?

Tbh matey if your happy then why not. Personally i'm going to wait untill i'm 19 then look for a ph1 172, think that way i'll be able to get a half decent insurance quote. Tpft would tempt me on a car worth <£3k though as its hardly worth losing your ncb for if u crash. But if you hit someone...

    The old 1.2 and its replacement 172 ... :)

Nice upgrade mate, looking to do the same thing next august when i have my 1ncb. Lose the IK though mate, probly losing performance. Standard ph1 airbox and panel filterwould be better. Any mods planned or is insurance too much as it is?

    My Clio

Write off imo, that panel is huge, ph2 172's are wqritten off with that damage. Sorry to break the news matey. I like the wheels wolf race pro sprint i believe. If its not written off lowering next on the list imo. Also good choice on the 1.4 16v, a lot nippier than the 1.2 16v

Anyone with a 1.2 had the ECU remap?

+1 in a 1.2 you don't have to use the brakes anywhere near as much as a more powerful car as you need to carry speed. only have to use them hard for tight corners.

1.2t mk 3 clio whos the tech heads on here...

Tbh mate its an awful lot of trouble and expense to do the mods your looking at doing, as well as losing lots of value from a new car. Thats why people havnt done it. But if you want a unique car then why not go for it, its your car, money, hobbie etc.. I'd certainly be interested to see how...

Testdrive Later Today - What Do I Look Out For?

lmao +1, oh and cyclists there's more every day due to the "credit crunch" bloody cyclists....

    £400 spare......

Decat will make a big difference for £100ish. Yet that tends to go well with an aftermarket exhaust system, yozza or miltek for the 182 have the best reputation. What about some second hand turinin's, they are the best alloys for RS clio's imo and renaults as they used them on the cup and...

    awsome mate, looks realy good

    DCI Turbo Droping Off Boost

I'd expect the dci 65 to be on a par with a 1.2 16v once rolling, i'd say the dci 80 is far quicker real world than the 1.2 16v. I find my 1.2 16v utterly gutless on dual carraigeways and motorways where as the dci's have decent amounts of torque so they pull well without having to constantly...

    Mallory park trackday *pics*

RS clio's certainly do terrorise a lot of cars that would expect to walk over "a little clio"

    'Cup: Summer, is that you?!'

    absolutely stunning mate
  16. Brett

    Not bad...

If i get a decent quote on a 182 next year chris i'd bite your hand off for it. If not it will be ph1 or early ph2 172 and tptf it for a year untill i can get a decent quote on a 182 fc. Unless i get too attached to the 172 because i'll probly spend a fortune on it in that year, i've already...

    RR Results on a mk2 phz2 1.4 16v?

Its perfectably believeable. With the same car 10bhp can be made up if his mate is changing gear slightly early or late. But same car same driver the 1.6 would win.

some women about 80 year old....

    lmao old people are funny.

    just had the 197 serviced.

However gay this may sound i've noticed my 1.2 has got more economical and revs better in the year i've had it. From 29.5 to 36K, I think it hitting 6K Rpm almost daily (when walmed up of course) has also helped.

    CAN YOU LOWER A TROPHY

i'd leave the trophy mate, it has a 4K suspension on it, renault did the job properly, i wouldnt want to risk ruining the handling of the car.

Just fitted my brand new pro race 1.2s (Pics)

look realy nice mate, was going to buy some myself but directline won't get me modify my car
  22. Brett

Anyone with a 1.2 had the ECU remap?

I think you'd have to be insane to spend £250 remaping a N/A 1.2 tbh. No body has done it because it simply isnt worth it mate.

    MY EXPRESSION

good luck with the test mate, was the worst experience of my life tbh (x2) :(

    Sportline'd & minimeet 17th Sep 08

I've never thought of it before but after this thread if i had a trophy, i'd be scared of it getting broken into just for the recaro's

    Year of Ownership.

i've had mine just over a year, no problems other than my crash. No points touch wood.

    My 197 Cup

Looks awsome, you deserve it after the wait you've had aswell, bet you won't sleep tonight. There is one identical that i see on my way to work everyday, they're stunning, would order one exactly the same if i was in the market for one.

Bloody hell mate you've tracked it already, its not even run out yet it is?
  29. Brett

    why is insurance so........

yes that a good plan mate, insurance is a nightmare, i was carless for a day because i had to wait for a years driving experience.
