It was just a theory to see if you could technically avoid the tax , i have no intention of doing a 1*2 conversion, don't see the point with used prices so low, unless you have a mint 1.2 that you have spent loads of cash on. i.e. if f0xy had converted his 1.2 but other than that no point atall.
yes they would but it was just a thought tbh, wasnt considering doing it just saying if anyone was to to a sport conversion the dci would be the pick of the bunch to do it on.
as above, september to april is cup killing season, hopefully we won't see a killed cup this year.
I had to have my 1.2 in intensive car this year, that won't be happening again for sure!!!*
* note tears in january and thread titled "i've f**king done it again" :(
If you bought a dci 65 or 80 then did a full sport conversion right from the engine to the suspension, bodywork, interior etc am i correct in saying it would still be £30 a year to tax i 2009?
If so its a great was of saving £230 a year, although the ammount of work probly isnt worth it, but...
Amen, its only money it comes and goes, could get hit by a bus tomorrow. And if i get hit my a bus whilst i'm still driving a 1.2 i'll be less than impressed. Will be seriously looking at a 1*2 next year when i'm 19.
will 195/50/15 tyres fit on standard dynamique rims? The standard tyres are 185/55/15 and Elaxito PE2's are £98.20 a corner but for the 195/50/15's they are £51  this is from www.mytyres.co.uk
So will they fit without any side affects or is it not possible to change from the correct size.
Not much of a mod but i think it looks good.
Future mods are limited due to being with direct line.
Planned mods untill next august when the policy runs out are:
Silvervisions
Aluminium pedals
Any other mods i come across that don't affect insuranceI also want my front bumper reprayed...
good point the only time i ever use my chav lights (front fog) is when i'm driving down realy small country lanes when its very dark, because they light up more to the side so you can see standing water, mud, horse s**t, potholes etc. Never used them any other time. Just there for looks imo, oh...
Thanks for the feedback chris. I think i'm going to go down the 172 route when i change next year then. Probably ph1 and have it as a project to make it a hobby aswell.
Yes the ticking is the CAT cooling down. My 50cc moped used to tick like a b**ch. And the idle sounds normal mate, my 1.2 16v idles at circa 600 rpm once warm, i thought it was a problem but its normal.
Re: One years ownership!!
Looks good mate, thats the route i'd go for modding it over a period of time, keeps you interested and good to see the car gradually improve.
