Insurance - Sorry!

I just read all the stickies regarding insurance basically I am 17 and I have got a renault clio campus sport.

Now the car is financed by my father due to the fact that because of my age I cannot get finance.

However I am on the V5, how should I be insuring this? I have advised the insurance company I am not the owner but I am the registered keeper, is that ok?

most insurance companies ask who both the owner and registered keeper are. if you look on online quotes, you will just be able to select it there.

If you are the registered owner then in the eyes of the law you are the owner, if your dad bought it you as a present on finance the car would be yours, so its no difference to you paying for it through your dad.

If your name is on the documentation regardless of who is paying for the car then you are classed as the owner.
