With the metal cutting discs for the dremmel they can be done so cleanly, me and my mate did some on his bonnet and they come up perfect. And im pretty cack handed.

Mine did what you are saying when the icv was shot, sure everything is sealed properly? The gasket was shot on the back of the throttle body and my revs would slightly rise and drop on idle.

You can re-route and hide all the wires. On the passenger side I had to chop and rejoin the wires. But some peoples wires have reached if your lucky!
