IMO you are far better off buying a cup racer and modifying that to your requirements... It will literally save you thousands of £££ and a hell of alot of time!
The cup racers run alot better parts the the road car and most "after market parts" already.. suspension, engine mounts, PROPER...
you could fit a 172 crank? ;)
and then you only need....
shells
ARP rod bolts
sump gasket
crank seals
oil and filter
flywheel bolts
you may as well do the clutch at the same time when the box is off;)
easy.... er... peasy
erm... I imagine you don't have any power going to the head unit when ignition is off? Which is why you are losing the settings
There will most likely be a pin on the cd player loom you could swap over for pin that still have a power when ignition is off and on?
