    '86 MK2 Golf GTI - Resto job.

Solid project IMO, and with the VAG scene you won't lose money on it if restored thoughtfully. Good shout.

    Help me clean my garage

Cheers man. Floor is epoxy. But it's chipped badly already. I'm planning on an extension next year, and it will mean a new double garage. And I'm paying to get the floor professionally done, because it agitates me that the paint chips. Racking - simple 2x4 with sheet. Plenty of time measuring...

    Help me clean my garage

I'm with this guy. Tidy garage, with tidy tools, much less stress. Takes 5 mins to put things back where they came from. Man up. X

Where to get a supercharger for the clio?

Never really finished? Eh? Mines been charged and finished for 2 years. Keep up at the back Scotland. X Cost - I got a lucky, as a complete kit including gen90 came up secondhand. So fitted and mapped, £2700'ish.

Where to get a supercharger for the clio?

Yep. I've had no reliability issues. I turn it on, drive to a track, smash about all day whilst annoying people in "faster cars". Then drive home again. After a piccy nic, of course. People always say buy a faster car, but you point out a car that's as much fun with 250bhp per ton for the same...

    Successful turbo conversions

Yep, basically the k-tec kit, but I was lucky and bought it second hand. They rarely come up second hand, so when it did, I was in there like a tramp on chips. 😂 The other benefit of low boost, and not messing with the internals, is if something does go pop engine wise, just buy a...

    Successful turbo conversions

I'm on a gen90, which works well as it's literally plug and play. But Scoff knows what he's doing, so I'd certainly trust an ECU kit from him. I just checked, I've done roughly 8k miles since the charger, probably half of those on track. I'll regret saying it now, but it's never let me down...

    Successful turbo conversions

Mines boosted, but supercharged and not turbo'd. It's as reliable as standard, and has had a fair degree of track abuse / driven hard. I only ever really use it on track nowadays. Think it is coming up three years since I boosted it. 250 bhp and 220 lb ft. I don't think I'd go much higher as I...

    Track car ride height

Largely because he and others feel the need to criticise those who don't strip their "fun toy" to the limit and spend "huge" on a "fat car". Don't give it out, if you don't like it back again. I did say horses for courses! Personally people can do what they want, but don't then assume it's...

    Track car ride height

Lol. Are you building a race car to race? Or a car to have fun on track in? Quite a few comments in here reek of "track hero" status. Trackdays are a bit of fun, not racing on the cheap.

    Track car ride height

Horses for courses. I don't want to drive to and from tracks / Le Mans / Ring rattling my fillings out and making myself deaf for the sake of 40kgs. 250bhp and 1020 kg or so does me fine. For what it's worth, I'm running Marks hubs, ASTs on custom rates and with a bit of rake and decent tyres...

    Davys 172 Flamer!

Sorry man, had a look and couldn't find them, although the Garage is a tip. I'll have another look next weekend, although I'm starting to think I sold them a while ago and forgot all about it! Lol!

    Davys 172 Flamer!

Flame red wins every time. Every. Time. I have some sprayshack bullets I may sell in the garage, when I get back later I'll have a look and put a photo up here if you're interested?

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

It probably worked because everyone knew where they stood. We had 50% following the rules, 50% not following them. Which creates chaos. For example, coming round a corner me and 2 other cars (golf R and Mini R53) "queuing" behind a mk1 golf waiting for the straight before overtaking. Turd in...

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

Opentrack day. So rules were supposed to apply. In reality, quite a few heroes who thought said rules didn't apply to them. I was out in our groups GT3 (passengering) and on our cool down lap some complete turd tried to dive past us on the right, when we had our indicator on to come into the...

Car was doing a brilliant job showing more expensive things up. Driver....not so much..... Having not done a trackday for nearly 18 months because of the little man, it showed that as with most hobbies, practice makes perfect!

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

Right, so Silverstone.... It was a great day, great track but for a whole host of reasons. I went down with the J-Tech boys and an assortment of cars; 3 x M3, 1 x M5, 911 GT3, Meggy, two heavily modified golfs, and 3 clios. There was a huge assortment of cars running, some full blown race...

Cub's Flamer - Supercharged, Cage etc

As seen from the post above, flameshed hasn't really been used in anger since babybear arrived last April. The occasional start up / run out over the last 10 months, and a show or two, but other than that it's been nestled in the garage. So, insurance renewal sorted this week. Thank you...

By the time you've bought the tools and the parts you may aswell just use a trusted trader on here. For the extra cost, it's nice to know you haven't f****d your own engine up.
