Sounds like the belts (likely the aux belt) squealing. Get them done ASAP. I personally wouldn't run the car until you can get them done. If one of the belts (aux or cam) snaps or jumps then it is highly likely you'll knacker the engine beyond repair.

When you say the Cam, do you mean the cambelt / aux belt is overdue?

About £20 to £30 secondhand on ebay. So not cheap. But cheaper than setting fire to your car out of sheer frustration 😂

As said, I'm getting a set, but luckily the guys around the corner who work on mine are AST authorised dealers so straight to the factory for me. 3 weeks from order to fitted they say. I'm hoping to order end of this month :smile:

Why don't you cut the hose and order a new one? If the engine is coming out anyway, the cost of a hose may be worth the lack of hassle :smile:
