MrBillyUK !
Your better off with a good quality fully synthetic 5w-40 .0w-40 on an older car might be a bit thin and with an older worn engine can pass the piston rings or leak from the sump gasket tec ....
The 0w or 5w shows the viscosity from cold , the lower the number the thinner the oil is from cold...
The original alloy pedals do wear out , depends on your driving position . I'm 6'1" and like to sit close to the steering wheel so it means i press the pedals more sideways on than on the top so i wore out the sides of the clutch n brake pedals . So i just got some grade A aluminium sheet and...
Haynes won't do a manual for the 172 / 182 and they aren't likely to ever do one because its a special edtion clio with not many sales compared to the bog standard clio it wouldn't be worth their while printing one .The haynes manual will cover alot of stuff , bodywork etc... but won't cover...
I can't believe people keep saying the rear disks don't do much ! Its true that the fronts do most of the braking ( around 75 - 80% ) if you didn't need em they would fit drums instead of disks . And by the way , my rears work perfectly fine . I need to change the disks as they are well worn...
You wanna get urself one of these magnetic pick up tools . Lots of pound shops sell em .

MrBillyUK !
Yep , thats what i'm saying . The 172 isn't a patch on my old Pug 306 S16 when it comes to handling , not quite as fast as the 172 in a straight line granted , but round the twisty bits it was hell of alot better .Having driven both for many miles i know which car i would put my confidence in...
Drove it on test mode yesterday , also got it up to 15 litres . Was only driving about 30mph ish but at one stage it was showing 160mph ,lmao !
Not bad for just a stainless exhaust ;)
MrBillyUK !

MrBillyUK !
Try powerflow .£270.00 for a stainless cat back system fitted . Only took 90 mins for them to make it up and you can listen to the sound of the different back boxes so you pick a sound you like .

Lets hope they get the suspension right from day one instead of bringing out extras like the cup suspension at a later date . Seems like Renault admitted that they got the supsension set up wrong if they have to bring out a cup pack later on .IMO i think the 172 handles like a sack of sh*te . My...
Does anybody know if there is a fault finder for the mk2 172 . I used to have a gunson fault finder for my pug 306 s16 , could read all the fault codes and reset the ecu . Anybody ever seen one for the 172 ?
MrBillyUK !
Mine was showing a " t " So i pressed the reset button for the comp and it cleared it . Reran the test and the " t " had vanished . Mine was fluctuating between 0.8 and 1.1 litres and hour when idling . Anybody else tried resetting the comp . Might just have been on " old " fault stored . Would...
Sounds like ur a bit fcuked . Wouldn't it have been easier just to use windows moviemaker . I've used it to transfer from my camcorder , piece of p*ss . Sorry , can't seem to find any more info on dar. files other than that they are used for backing up data . Sounds like you might have to start...
Is it dvd from ur camcorder or a collection of photos ?? I've never heard of sony dvd architect , but do you have the option to save the project and burn it with a different program , somethin' simple like nero maybe !
You could always try taking the dvd writer apart and clean the lens with a...
Go to http://www.powerflow.uk.com and check out the nearest dealer . They'll do ya a stainless back box fitted for about £120 , and you can pick whats Style ya want , how much noise etc ...

Cheers Stoddie !
So what plugs did ya use , cost etc ... ? Why did you change the leads to magnecor leads , were your originals knackered ? How many "o" rings are there and if i do manage to nip one can you get hold of em easily ? I can see the metal gasket at the front of the plenum chamber...
My back box dropped off at 3 years old . Renault quoted me £365 , ouch ! I got a full cat back , stainless exhaust made up and fitted in less than 90 mins , you can choose the exhaust note ya want , cos they try on different back boxes and let you have a listen . It only cost me £270 fitted ...
To make a tool for injection moulding would cost you about 20k ,lol ! As for perspex its too brittle m8 , i know , i make the stuff . You want either " Makrolon " this looks like perspex but its a polycarbonate , its the stuff they make police riot shields out of .And you would have to have a...
So hasn't anybody got any idea about changing the spark plugs then ? And if i remove the engine cover is there a gasket underneath it ??
Cheers , MrBillyUk .
