72k i wish !! I'm on 46k at the moment . Last year had a problem with it juddering up 2500 revs so i took it to a local garage for ecu checking out and it turned out it was the spark plugs so he replaced em and its been as good as new ever since . I was gonna look at changing em myself every 12k...
Anybody changed the spark plugs on a MK2 172 and what plugs do ya recommend ? When you remove the cover on the engine ( not the plastic one ) does it have a gasket and will it need replacing ?
Cheers , MrBillyUk !
Had the same problem on my new 172 , sticking handbrake when parked overnight but released itself when i drove off , lasted a couple of months then went right on its own . I guess its just the back brakes being new and a bit stiff !

Don't know what the fuss is all about with a car being an import . All Clio Sports are made in the same Alpine factory . Only difference is with an import is that the have a factory fitted immobiliser and no alarm . I saved £1500 buying an import then had a Toad cat 1 alarm fitted job sorted ,lol .
I was quoted for a 36K Service on a Mk2 172 from Sunwins Renault in Preston £325 . I asked em what they actually dId for £325 and it was exactly the same as the 12 and 24 k and they wanted and extra £8.00 for the pollen filter .
Don't ya just love owning a Clio ,lol
Just had my 2001 Mk2 172 MOT'ed . Failed on " front brakes imbalanced " . In other words they said that the front nearside ( left ) brake caliper was seized . You have to have 25% or less difference in braking performance for both brakes , i had 26% . Si i asked em to prove it . The guages on...
Brun , have you got the name of the road that LTR Renault are on . Post code would be handy to if you could manage it .I'm pretty near by In Darwen so i'm sure i could find it with the name of the road .
Cheers MrBillyUk !
You can put 2 types of tyres on your car just keep the same at the front and same at the back cos different brands will grip slightly different .
I'd go for Toyo proxes T1 - R 's or T1 - S's .
Had 2 new ones ( 195 x 45 x 16's ) fitted yesterday £140.00
I always put my new tyres on the back and swap the back wheels to the front for 2 reasons !
1st if you have tyres with hardly any tread on the back and you brake hard , especially in the wet or on a bend the front end will stop and the back will slide and want to overtake the front end ...
Does anybody know of any independant renault garage for service etc in the Lancashire area ? Can't find one anywhere . Would be good if people could post the names , locations of all good renault specialists countrywide for cheaper services , better paying Rip Off Renault prices !
I had to have my spark plugs changed at 36,000 miles it was juddering between 1500 - 2500 revs . Ecu fault code was showing spark plugs needed changing .Now its running like new again . Anybody had simliar problems or reached that illustrious 72 k on the same plugs . Would be interested to hear...
