So, 4 new Michelin PS3 (non run flats) arrived and went on last week.
Obligatory s**t photos;
The first one that came off had plenty of tread, which irked me as it felt like wasted cash.
But, glad I decided to change them. 2 were on the limit on the inner edge, and 1 had this in it...
I have supercharged mine. Build thread here if it helps. http://www.cliosport.net/threads/cubs-flamer-supercharged-cage-etc.612638/
My advice;
- It isn't cheap so you need to be committed long term as you will lose money on a sale.
- Don't boost it until you've done a lot of other mods first...
For clarity.
Replace the Dephaser.
Belts and tensioners aren't negotiable either.
Waterpump is upto you. I'd replace it. But that's because I like to do a job properly.
Exactly this. Mine being one of those. Mine has a 182 engine, and not a 172.
Get the other issues resolved by a decent independant and I wouldn't worry too much about the engine.
It's only when epic cars get broken, you can really see how much effort and parts went into building it :(
But, parts of it shall live on in various other cars ;)
Ooft - lovely bike!
Be good to catch up at Bedford mate. Jamie is doing the Britcar 24hr at Silverstone which I am plannning to head down too to watch. Was going to see about rustling some people from here upto go if you're keen.
Put it like this. I'd rather have too much braking and not need it, than not enough :)
I didn't try the RC5, I had DS3000's and the brake squeal in Wales made me and 3 others cry. It was awful! Lol!
I'll see how it runs at a Bedford. @AlexW - that's interesting bud, as my one (406 cylinder...
I agree on more than one factor, and I'm the first to admit, I'm hard on the brakes. :smile:
I wouldn't say I have bad braking etiquette / style, I just try to hold as much speed into the corner as possible, meaning the brakes work quite hard. I am carrying more weight though :)
Pug 406 v6 MC didn't fit with mine for some reason. How did you get yours to mate Alex?
I tried with my recent brake upgrade. Unless it was the MC that was wrong...
@Ricardos - my brakes being on fire at Oulton seems to go against your assertions 4 pots are overkill :wink:
