It was a good event we arrived late so missed most of the Bbq.
Plans for over the winter are fit rear shim , get it corner weighted and hopefully get some tuition booked.
I would ideally like to fit a dash2 and get rid of all the standard Renault wiring but I hate doing car wiring.
I did a few hours in the car over the weekend and have to say the new seats are actually really comfy , I steamed the original seats before putting them in storage and its tightened up the leather on them .
Im in two minds about painting the plastic sections around the harness holes on the...
Thanks Mark , it is fairly planed out on track I left the roll bar disconnected for Blyton and to be honest wasn't pushing as hard as I should have been.
I already had the 997 gt3 shift mechanism fitted so , the gear knob was a simple change out.
The seats are carbon fibre copies of the 996 GT2/ GT3 seats , would of loved genuine seats but they are getting harder to find and prices are getting stupid at over £3500 second hand.
I would like to...
Few recent changes to the interior
I went for a 997 gt3 shifter, and managed to join it to the 996 gaiter to keep the alcantara/leather theme going.
And today i added a set of leather/alcantara GT3/GT2 style seats , at the same time i removed the rear carpets and added some sound deadening...
Went to the CSOC weekender at Blyton last weekend, was good to try out a new track and it couldn't be more different from Knockhill my local track.
The car ran fine all day bar the ebay header tank splitting in half, luckily that happened in the pits not on track . Thanks to Stu for lending me...
What sort of power was this at the wheels, or do they not record atw readings ?
Very good power for standard comp, mine made similar then I fitted high comp pistons to standard bottom end/rods and gained about 10 bhp.
Unless your only using it on track I would leave it as is. It's a good mix of track and comfort justnow. I use to hate driving my stripped out car home after a track day, now stick it on the trailer and drive home in comfort.
For something like springs where there not manufacturer specific I would go elsewhere Craig, I think It was Faulkner (sp) I got springs from for my Motons in the past , as long as you know the spring weight/length/diameter they have loads in stock and were out next day.
Looks good Cub :)
I work offshore with the guy who has the red/silver MR2 in the above pictures he was saying there was a supercharged clio out with him on track.
Yip even over my last set of 2118's which were the lighter ones at 6.9kg , the OZ are almost 2kg a corner lighter.
I now have Red OZ Ultraleggeras with medium A048's
Black OZ superleggeras with new soft A048's
Grey OZ Superleggeras with new Rainsport 3's
So all...
We will all need to get booked up for a trip down south next year, would also be good to try and organise something similar to the weakender at Knockhill so let the southern lot come up.
I think I'm going to get booked up for the weekender , I go on holiday the following week so thats bound to...
Nope I'm in the air justnow heading to the Philippines with work. The next day I have booked is the drednaught night on the 3rd of sept , but may cancel that and book the csoc weekender.
Got the 3rd clip installed which now secures the bonnet to the bumper/grill and stops the middle flex.
Also had a set of rain sports fitted to my 3rd set of OZ's
So that's the car ready for its next track day when ever that may be.
Yip thats todays project Sonny , i have got one of the little button ones that Russ fitted.
Just need to make up a small bracket to hold the pin on the grill.
Got some new hoses fitted and gave the car a coolant change over to genuine renault stuff
Also picked up another set of OZ...
Had a busy couple of weeks with the car , having it on a stand at the Scottish car show 2 weekends ago then on track Monday, Wed and SLS on Sunday.
The car ran faultlessly on all 3 track outings , but did suffer a bit of 1/4 damage when i gave a friend a shot who went off at duffers , luckily...
Fraser to the sin bin lol
Green clio to the tyre wall :( lol
Was a wet night , but for the last two hours the track dried up but was too busy most of the time
