I have definitely always suffered from lag on the iPhone whenever it was jb. Horrible and returned to standard soon after each time.

Re: iPhone 4G (No longer rumours) You can choose a 18 month or 24 month contract if you want one, you do not have to take the 24 month option but they will obviously try and steer you towards that. I'm happy on the iPhone Simplicity 30 day contract.

4.0 for the iPad is not due till later in the year, the iPhone version should appear next month.

I used a friends iPad for an hour or so last night and it is very good but definitely not a replacement for my 13" MBP which I am currently browsing here with. If you do not own a laptop then the iPad is a nice, but expensive, alternative to other devices which are available.

I'll maybe reconsider and buy one in October or shortly after when 4.0 is released and the iPad App Store has more native apps available that I want. The launch at the Apple Stores always makes me laugh, 50 staff running along the queue whooping, clapping and high fiving people while displaying...

It was a low res iPhone video sent via email so perhaps he had simply played the iPhone version but full screen. It looked great in the video.

From the brief time I had with a iPad this morning it does feel quite different in use to a iPhone despite it essentially being the same product but larger. Hard to describe but it was definitely different.

A friend just sent me a video of Doodle Jump on the iPad, it looks awesome.

If you do not already own a laptop then the iPad is great, if you do then it's probably a waste of money.

Apple Store Glasgow at 7am today. I had queued with a couple of friends and once inside had a play on the demo iPad units but I didn't bother buying one. It's very nice to use but I cannot see any benefit for it in my life right now.

I've said i will accompany a friend to the Apple store in the morning while he queues for the iPad, I plan on remaining strong and keeping my bank card locked away. I shall not be tempted to buy!!!! Hopefully.

I'm sure the free F1 app will be good enough on the iPad for the stats.

I'm still undecided, not sure I really need this as I already own a iPhone and a 13" MBP. Not sure I need anything that falls between those two devices.

iPad? Never heard of it. I don't think Apple have released a beta of 4.0 for the iPad yet as it is not due till later in the year.
