Yeah they were hardly renowned for their handling prowess. It looks like the five-put sits entirely forward of the front axle line too, which is sure to make it even better.
Interesting that someone has finally done that swap. I remember loads of people asking if it could be done back when the five-pot Focus ST came along, but the consensus was that you'd just have to cut out too much metal for it to work. It's a cool swap, and I bet it goes really well, as it must...
Anyone that fits air ride to a 190E Cosworth should be shot in the face. I don't understand why you'd buy a car known for its handling prowess, and then ruin it with shite suspension. Just buy a base model if you don't care how it drives.
I might do a full thread about it, but I'm at Rallye Vosges Grand Est in France this weekend. Car of the rally? This. It's not a real Group A car I don't think, but it's still stunning.
I reckon it's probably a Chasseur or something. Looks a similar colour to the blue offered on those. Basically one of the run-out models made near the end of production.
If the car is in good condition, I wouldn't worry too much to be honest. If you're going from central-ish UK, it's only a 1,000 mile road trip, so any car in reasonable shape shouldn't struggle with that. Like you say, if you're taking it steady on your laps, you shouldn't do any harm there...
I'm leaning towards rep. Was it on a K-plate? Hard to tell from the picture but, if so, it's probably a rep, as blue wasn't offered on 4x4s. You could get two-wheel drive ones in Crystal Blue, but this looks too dark for that.
Unless it's been painted obviously...
Definitely. I redid all the branding for my channel a few months ago, had what I thought were really clean, good looking thumbnails, but I've had to start putting faces on them (not mine for the most part thankfully) as it does make a real difference.
The need to be clickbait-y is really...
Outside the gym on Tuesday...
Green wouldn't be my first choice but otherwise....wibble. What a thing. Probably the best looking of all the 911s in my view.
That looks lovely. Makes me miss mine. I really would like another one, and probably should before they get too expensive.
As for modifications, 100% change the airbox and map it. They sound great with the right intake modifications. I'd like to drive one with Group N timing to see what it's like.
Reminds me of the Renault 25 my old man had when I passed my test. He put me on the insurance and I thought I was the boss, driving round in a car with a 2.9-litre V6. It wasn't actually very fast, but was quicker than what most 17-year olds were driving at the time. He wanted a Safrane, but...
If you want something of a similar nature but a bit more modern, I'd be looking at a Megane 250/265/275, or a MK7 Fiesta ST. Both a bit less frantic, but better every day cars while still being a lot of fun.
I suspect that will start to happen with a lot of these channels if they're not careful. There are only so many times people want to watch someone buy a s**t example of a car and fire a parts cannon at it, with a Car Vertical ad thrown in for good measure too of course.
I'm getting so bored of the "I've bought the cheapest/shittest/oldest/fastest/crashest in the world" videos. I actually like videos of cars being rebuilt, restored or modified, but the likes of TDC and AA doing the same video over and over and over and over and over again with a slightly...
Doesn't surprise me. Someone I follow on socials bought the pink ex-Max Power Escort from him. It was a bit of a mess, and he'd lied endlessly about the spec/condition of it. Makes me wonder what kind of shape the cars he gives away are in.
His Instagram feed is just full of competition stuff, so maybe he is focusing on giveaway cars. Always struggled with him a bit to be honest. Another of the ones who drives like an absolute weapon on camera.
It's been a good while since I've been there to be honest, but it does seem to have plenty of in-field etc. to work with. That said, most of the UK circuits now host stage rallies, so you'd think they could use a similar layout to the stages they use there. Guess it comes down to cost though...
