Maybe it's a very bad April Fools joke!!
A original selling point of the PS3 was the ability to install a other OS so it does seem a bit cheeky of them to remove this. If you use the PS3 online you don't have the option of refusing the update.
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
The F1 2010 app has been updated with a couple of handy changes inc landscape timing screen and local times for all races.
PS3 Firmware 3.21 will be available this Thursday. It will disable the “Install Other OS” feature that was available on the PS3 systems prior to the current slimmer models, launched in September 2009. This feature enabled users to install an operating system, but due to security concerns, we’re...
I've just purchased a o2 E160 mobile broadband dongle and it is working great for me on HSDPA despite the face I am currently in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands.
£2 per day, £7.50 per week or £15 per month.
Yes as a NAS solution it is perfect. I use my 3610 as my Squeezebox server in the house and it works great for that. I had considered a qnap device but this was far better value and offers much more options in use.
Virgin have always offered me better deals than Sky so I've stuck with them for a few years now.
I plan on buying the new HD viewing box for my bedroom, it costs a £49 one off fee but has no ongoing multiroom subscription to match the channels on the main stb.
I'm not sure i'd recommend a 3610 for any processor hungry applications which cannot make use of GPU acceleration. A Core2Duo machine would be much better for those needs.
My 3610 is currently only using 2gb ram but I'm planning to upgrade soon.
It continues to work perfectly for what I need. XBMC within W7 now has GPU acceleration which allows playback of HD material without any issues.
This replaced my Apple TV and is a far more capable option.
What are you hoping to use it for?
Re: iPhone 4G Rumours
I think Apple are busy promoting the iPad and until that is released they will be very quiet with details of any new products including the iPhone and possibly also the MBP updates.
Some people have suggested that Apple may not refresh the iPhone this year and this could...
Without a side by side comparison I doubt anyone would really notice. I don't play online enough now to know anyone on my friends list anymore so any version would be OK for that :D
The explosions and trees etc look more natural on the PS3 and not as dithered as the 360 version. Also free online play on the PS3 will be more handy for now until I purchase a Live subscription.
This is a better view to see how it really looks

And this but it is still slightly higher than the drivers actual view

If the 4G iPhone announcement isn't something very special then I'll definitely be buying the Desire. I may well buy one sim free anyway so that I can swap phones whenever I wish.
Looks like the new models will possibly have a price jump
