Im fed up with my engine moving about, bashing my exhaust off the bottom of my car, Ive already changed he dogbone, Are the engine (top left) and gearbox (top right) both as simple?? i.e. do you need to support the weight of the engine as you change the, even if you change one at a time????
So a new (custom) inlet plenum, with a worked head and slightly lairy cams and a decent exhaust with an aftermarket ecu?? As well as a few other custom touches (ditching the pencil coils etc..) On the stock bottom end??? Revving to 6.5 k????
So whats the final spec for this K4M project car??? Theres probably more interest in this thread than many think, with more and more people buying the K4M powered clios as they get cheaper!!! I know Ive been watching (admiring) its progress from afar!!!!!!!
TBH, i dont think its worth spending any money on getting your tyres filled with 100% nitrogen, youll probably notice no difference. However, its up to you. If you find that having nitrogen inflated tyres gains you x seconds per lap round castle combe, then come tell us that its the best thing...
Tyre inflation with nitrogen has been around for years. Certainly in aircraft tyres. I believe the reason for using pure nitrogen (as opposed to air which is 70% nitrogen, 30% oxygen) is that it is inert and will not react to the immense heat generated through the tyre when an aircraft lands...
Mk2 ph1 Rsi (1600 k4m engine). Ive spent soooo much time underneath it trying to get the exhaust (originally done at a tyre and exhaust place in st andrews) to sit correctly under the car, only to realise that the muppets had used a centre section hanger to hang the rear section instead of the x...
Hi all, ive got a bit of an issue with my current (pattern) exhaust. The centre box is just too close to its heat shielding, even after bending the heat shield out of the way as much as possible, the centre box is still hitting it. Ive just replaced all of the exhaust mounts and the dogbone...
Ive got 3 different types of coil on mine, so theyve obviously been changed at some point. But havent had one fail on me since Ive owned the car (3 years)
Hi all, just in the process of changing my dogbone mount, It looks stupidly simple, undo 1x19mm bolt and 1x16mm bolt and bobs yer uncle (remembering to support the engine while youre at it). However, the rear bolt (16mm) seems extremely tight, is this because I havent taken the fromt bolt out...
Does anyone know how to get the code for a standard radio, I left my car standing for a few months with a flat battery and now i cant find the code for the thing!!!!!!
Hi all, took my car out for a spin the other day and my abs seemed to be kicking in all the time, took it to the local garage, who reckon it needs a new driveshaft! Can anyone shed any light on what the driveshaft has to do with the ABS system, and how much should i pay for a replacement. Cheers:)
Wouldnt have thought thered be much point messing with the engine, bar a cat back exhaust for a bit of noise. Suspension, brakes and tyres are where its at with the smaller engined stuff.
Mines got a tray!!! You should be able to fit it without the bolts, it has slots in to hold on to the subframe, you can just use ty-wraps through the bolt holes on the tray and subframe to hold it in place. One of the bolts on mine was missing, and a ty-wrap seems to do the trick!!
So its a bolt, not a nut?? Not sure i fancy not re-fitting it, there arent too many fixing points for it around that area. Basically, ive hit the front corner, broken the headlight mounts, cracked some of the flanges that hold the front wing in and cracked the arch liner. the wings just...
