What did you have to do to the 197 manifold to get it to fit the 1@2 head?? did you use the original lower inlet??

id say its youre clutch, if you can hear the revs increasing, but youre not accelerating, youre clutch could be slipping. try pulling away in 4th and see if it stalls straight away. If it doesnt then youll be needing a new clutch soon.

Hmm, well i think it was a renault dealer that did the cambelt, so id like to think its been done right, but you never know.... if I was to sling those e-bay coils in at 40 quid for the set, i suppose it would eliminate them, what im unsure about is that each pencil coil has its own lead going...

are coils cheap?? does it make much difference where you get them (renault, gsf, etc...) I need this to be a cheap fix, otherwise its getting scrapped or broken!!

IMO, If you want max performance gains for youre £, Strip it, Stick some lightweight 15's on it with some cheap coilovers, and drive it like you stole it. Stick a new panel filter in the airbox for some extra noise if you want.
