    I couldn't be arsed cutting wires etc so just fitted the standard climate motor but opened it and removed the big metal cooler matrix.

    Do you have the registration on certificate? Take your V5, MOT and Tax disc to your DVLA office and they'll do it there and then. Check the DVLA site to see if they are open/do on the spot reg transfers.

    Yes as the discs get wet and cold and this reduced their efficiency.
