    Unlocking - iPhone 3GS

Settings/ General/ About/ Version will tell you what firmware you are using. There is a JB out for 3.1.3, but that only allows you to load themes and apps (amongst other things). An unlock is something separate and the last supported firmware was 3.1.2. 4.0 is not rumoured to be released...

    Unlocking - iPhone 3GS

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Con all the way, they can't do it. If you phone is running 3.1.2 you can unlock it with a jailbreak. If it is on 3.1.3, then you will (probably) have to wait until 4.0 in the summer before anybody releases a JB unlock.

    Manchester - Piccadilly Gardens

My 70-200 has just arrived today. Can't wait to get out and about with it after having nothing longer than 105 for over a year. A big white lens is a bit trickier to get candid shots with though surely? ;)

Nice shots. All done with the 5 & 50mm?

File permissions [copying from XP to W7]

Have you got a USB case you can use with it? I had a disc with windows vista on it, and windows 7 would not even recognise it through sata unless I changed from AHCI to IDE. I used USB instead and had full access.

    Flash (ah aaaahhh!)

We have had to block access to one of the news sites for our staff working on thin clients. The Citrix servers cannot handle the load caused by some of the flash elements on the pages, so yes, flash really can put a load on the system.

    Canon 100-400mm

It's also very expensive. For the same money you can get a 24-70 f2.8L and a 100-400. Choices choices.

    Canon 100-400mm

It's the weight of the thing that really kills it. For that range you would expect to use it as a walk around, but it is close to 2KGs. Sod carrying that anywhere!

    Canon 100-400mm

A mate bought one, and sold it two days later. Nasty, heavy thing that doesn't really do anything brilliantly.

    Canon 100-400mm

It is the perfect safari lens. Nice snaps.

    Canon 100-400mm

I'll have the 2x extender before the end of the year too, which will push me up to 400mm. ;)

    Canon 100-400mm

Mine are shocking, looking through the viewfinder at 300mm and I just see it wobbling all over the shop. I'm still waiting for the 70-200, which apparently has awesome IS so should save me. :)

    Canon 100-400mm

Granted... it depends on what you are shooting. A moving subect does not require so much IS. Static birds at 500mm would require a tripod, the hands of a sniper or just a fast shutter.

    iPad.

Just set up your iphone as a wifi hotspot (with Jailbrake) and you are made. You can also do it with a Nokia.

    Canon 100-400mm

The sigma doesn't have IS/ OS though does it? At those focal lengths it's almost essential.

    PURESTORM

Looks like great fun. Are you using a full studio set up or just some off camera flash? I really want to try my hand at some studio work, but don't really want to spend £££ on something that I may not use much.

    To good to be true?

Its a ciPhone, not an iPhone. Steer well clear. Edit: Nevermind. ^^ Its only similar in appearance. The OS and insides are nothing alike. :D

Jailbreaking: A Guide... & Best Features.

Same as my sister. She was panicked that Apple might see that she is doing something naughty or something and wanted to put it back to normal. I think my list of Cydia apps to install freaked her out. :D

    iOS "must have" apps

Re: iPhone "must have" apps? Flickstakr - for the Flickr users here. Its much better than the official app, with support for groups etc. Bullseye - good way of passing some time while sat on the loo VLC remote - control your VLC player on the PC.
