Its what the GPS came up with.... 129kph was the fastest I hit... had a couple of 110's too. Could just be dodgy GPS but it is accurate in the car.
In the GS, the skiiers get up to 140+ kph and that is with turns, so flat out you could go faster, IMHO.
The combe de saulire is where I scored 80mph first thing one morning. Freshly groomed snow carpets FTMFW!
Three Valleys is definitely one of my favourite spots in the Alps.
Luckily not... then one day I can bag myself a 2nd hand 5D MkII and not have to pay out for new memory again. I still have a load of old Sony Memory sticks which are useless/ worthless these days.
I shoot in Raw+jpg at the same time. If the shots are keepers then it saves hassle, but you always have the RAW to fall back on.
CF cards are used by nearly all DSLR's so if you are considering one, it would be a good investment. 16GB cards can be had for just over 20 quid anyway so you could...
i'd prefer to move my personal files to a second hard drive and do a format. I just did it and was easy enough to copy the relevant App data files back. That way you know everything is clean as it should be.
cheers pettsi, good to know.
The D90 sounds like a great bit of kit. My mate just treated himself to a D700 and is trying to convert me to the darkside. Lol
I think i am sold. I just need to get my wife to place the order. :)
mostly positive so far then.... Battery life is not an issue, i can take upwards of 1500 on a single charge. Do canon grips need two batteries or can you use just one btw?
i'm trying to think of something that i want for my birthday and am tempted to go for a grip.
Just interested to hear what people think of them, genuinely usefull or for lazy people who have money to burn.
This is for a 40D BTW so there a extra benefits like the nikonians have.
Cue everybody with their double screen photos! lol
I have a 24" and a 19". The benefits are more screen space, for editing photos, coding web pages it is easier. also useful for remote desktop to my PC at work while playing on the other one.
The only reason I have two is that I wanted to...
I had the same result on the laptop so went out and treated myself to a new sandisk card reader today on a long shot. Instead of 2mb transfers i now have 20. Makes quite a difference on a 16gb card!
f**king computers.
board + crash = slide on your bum, no damage to backpack
skiis + crash = somebody hit a landmine! Bits fly everywhere!
I can see why you would worry... give it enough padding and it should be fine. Do you have a camera backpack or are you just sticking your camera bag in your backpack?
I took my 40D, 70-200, 12-24 and 24-105 out for a day on my back on my board without a problem.
I would say that it is 100% dependant on your bag. Mine has very thick straps, solid back support and good waist straps so I really did not have any troubles with it. Chair lifts are a pain though...
I only have a laptop, which is refusing to charge at the minute... will give it a shot.
The only thing that I could think of is that although the card reader is USB2.0 perhaps it isn't vista compatible and that is causing the problem.
I have a problem with my card reader. It can only read memory cards at 2-3 MB/sec, which takes a ridiculously long time with a 4GB card.
I have de installed the drivers and reinstalled them, and since yesterday have a fresh install of Vista and still have the same problem. I have tried other...
