I was a bit gutted I wasn't there to hand Stokie his arse for the 3rd time in a row, I see he's added some go faster graphics to his car,
well I guess if you can't go fast you might as well look fast.
The captive nuts are b*stards, the welds break and there's no way to get them off,
my backbox is fixed to the car with zip ties and jubilee clips, they work far better than the mounts.
I had a problem with mine once where it would intermittently start, sometimes firing up perfect sometimes battery was totally dead, turned out my aux belt was slipping because of a dodgy alternator bracket, it wasn't charging the battery properly and it also knackered the alternator in the end...
I might still be the battery you know, you'd be surprised how many problems they can cause,
so did it start when you bump started it?
I don't mean to sound like a dick or anything so I apologise in advance, but you do know the difference between bump starting and jump starting right?
Yep, it's the nipple thing sticking up on the right of the grill plate, just next to the sticker,
you might want to check it's wires and make sure it's still plugged in.
You could also hold it down and lock your car to see if it still works.
Only problem with that though is you're spending more than the car's worth on a single mod, there's no doubt it's a great mod but when the cost of buying it and getting it fitted is the same as buying another 172 you can see why not many people do it.
I'm not making this either, 25-40 quid to get in and race, 20/30 quid on fuel, 20/30 quid on booze and food for camping,
can't really afford to spunk 80/90 quid up the wall on a weekend jolly.
Sh*t tyres give you understeer, put decent rubber on them and they turn in like a house fly,
unless you're going too fast of course but that's down to sh*t driving rather than the car.
I have considered putting a 90 degree bend on mine so it sits right up against the grill to channel air directly into it,
but I don't want rain water to be blown in.
I haven't had any back seats in mine for years mainly due to owning a German Shepherd,
i've lined the back of mine with a big hevey duty non slip rubber mat, it's as wide as the car and is nearly long enough to reach the tail gate,
I haven't cut mine to fit the contours of the car but it could...
Get rid of the hoses and leave the box open, if you look at the right side of the front grill there's a little channel that feeds air directly into the engine where the boxes intake hole is, i've been running mine like that for years and never suffered with reduced power due to heat soak.
You might have to set your tent up before you go on track and leave all your crap in there,
they'll be people camping on the Friday night so you won't be alone.
