Have you got a Halogen light to use ? Neighbors gave me funny looks when I was using mine in the sun the other day, but proper lighting is the only way you can inspect the work area and your progress.
As others have said sound like you need to work the IP more. Which version of IP you got ?
Is like EGP but in a spray and wipe form as easy as a quick detail spray.

#16 is hand applyable on a warm day or if you warm it first, applied thinnly it wipes of as easily as anything else. That or Collinite are sure fire for durable applications.
PC is the best best to get it nice and thin.
Would not spend any more than 20 quid for a wax to use on Silver, not...
My OCD got the better of me. The 106 having loads of marks in it makes has made me want to get it as nice as I can without spending money on paint and stopping me get so precious.
The more work I do on it the more marks I spot, damage that if the Clio had I would have had to get painted...
