Wow, the prices have gone up! I'm sure I only paid about 35 quid plus shipping.
I'm half tempted to replace the side which I didn't change last time as it seems inevitable that it will go anyway while they are in stock.
Yeh just the front one. My rear one is just tie wrapped up to the abs sensor wiring as the threads stripped when I took it out of the old cat and the car has been running perfectly fine for the last 2 years like this since I replaced the front lambda which was destroying my fuel economy
I'd just replace the front one, the rear doesn't do anything to aid the running of the car.
Did it pass the emmissions test?
Eml could be a number of things though so best off getting it properly diagnosed.
Fair doos
I suppose when you look at it like that it's still cheaper than buying the pms kit unless you keep the car for a good few belt changes, but let's be fair, with Renault discontinuing parts like they are doing we won't be on the road much longer!
Guys, has anything changed regarding this argument?
I'm thinking of blanking mine off as they don't seem to work anyway.
Is it still a case of if it's not fitted it can't be tested and there is no law for pre 2010 cars stating that washers must be installed with xenons?
Chopped the plugs off today and soldered the wires together, chopped the washer hose off and blanked as I've got rear wiper delete.
Removed the brake light and pulled the wires all the way through to 100% ensure it's not sitting on the wires.
Bolted the spoiler back down, guess what, still...
Good idea that.
Don't mean to sound like I'm questioning you, but would it not be the same amount of stress through the bolt that the regular idler pulley would see with the belt running along the top side of it?
Or do you mean the load on it would increase due to the air con pump not been...
Nope.
Remove a.c.
Remove original idler pulley and replace with the new ribbed one, nothing goes where the aircon was.
The new belt now sits in the grooves on the pulley rather than the rear of the belt touching the pulley
I used a 6pk1640 belt and I think the pulley I used was an skf VKM34501 I used about 5mm or so of washers to space the idler pulley out a bit so it ran perfectly in line with the rest as I didn't want the belt pulling.
I bought one. I think the brand was bm catalysts or somethings like that, basically the same as what cats2u sell but without the free fitting kit which adds 30 quid onto the price.
Paid about 90 quid.
Fit was absolutely perfect and flew through emmissions test last year.
Ends are completely in tact.
But I think I know what you mean.
It appears that the edges stop it from sitting completely flat. I had thought about grinding them off but don't want to make a bugger of it.
Well that failed.
Took it back off to find that the clips were knackered anyway as you say. But the bottoms of them appear to be bonded into the spoiler whereas the clips which are on my non cup spoiler are removable.
I've had another go, seems slightly better but I've had enough now, don't...
The other thought I've just had is putting the clips into the boot and then dropping the spoiler onto the clips?
They were proofing difficult to clip in the other way.
The screws nip up tight, I didn't want to over do them as like you said it's just a fibreglass thread.
The plug and pipe are definatly out the way and the clips are in tact. Just seems odd how it's sat.
Does it lol?
Maybe I'm just been paranoid.
Need to find somebody local with a cup spoiler and compare.
I almost had a heart attack when the break light didn't work and the last ever one on eBay is up for sale at 200 quid. Luckily the connector to the led strip was corroded so managed to...
Got my cup spoiler back from the paint shop, they did a fantastic job for 50 quid.
But I can't for the life of me get the thing sitting flush.
I've managed to get it the same height both sides but it feels like it should be a cm or so lower on both edges.
But the hight between the spoiler...
They do.
I just bought a resonated centre section for my 172 stealth and asked why there was none of their website. They said stock was gone but they should be coming back.
However, they shipped me a silenced centre section out immediatly from manufacturer which I thought was odd if they had...
I've just googled a clio hornet exhaust. Might aswel use a piece of scaffolding as the silencer looks almost as useful.
I bet it will sound terrible, hence the silly responses.
I agree mate. My mate has just bought a 63k mile monaco but id take my 120k monaco any day of the week.
I'm always skeptical of a low mileage 15 year old car, it screams mileage correction service to me, as if done properly before each MOT nobody will ever know..
