Fabien from Orbisoud sent me an e-mail saying it was 915 Euros for 1 exhaust, or 763 Euros (£537 at current exchange rate) on the basis of a 10 exhaust group buy. I'm trying to find out what this includes, and what we'd have to pay in the way of shipping.
Olin has organised a group buy, but...
I've been in some e-mail dialogue with Fabien from Orbisoud, as I'm very interested in this exhaust. He has confirmed it includes a 100 cell cat, peaks at 85dB in non-track form, can produce gains of up to 10bhp across the rev range (not peak).
It also definitely includes positions for the...
I realise this but don't want a full decat as I really can't be arsed with messing about when it comes to MoT time (even though its a while away!).
I've also heard that the 100 cell cat on the Orbisoud is very free-flowing, and will hardly offer more resistance than a full decat, plus it...
Any details on the AWT system mate? I'm desperate for a new exhaust but want one that increases performance rather than just looks/sounds better.
I'm very tempted by this Orbisoud one because the cat is included, it looks/sounds just how I want, increases performance and isn't ridiculously...
Depending on the exchange rate I worked out 704 Euros as about £570 including 17.5% VAT. Not too bad.
I also translated a bit from the Orbisoud website. It looks like the use a 200 cell cat (instead of the standard 400 cell). It also looks as if there is a place to mount a sensor (Lambda)...
Are the 210's supposed to produce more than book figures too? 210bhp and 1375kg only makes for about 153bhp/tonne if the calc on my phone serves me correctly, so could be close?
In the back of Evo they've also got the tested book figures for the 225bhp S3 as 6.6 to 60 and 17.5 to 100, which...
You can order them online at www.motorsportworld.co.uk
I don't think you get any peak power gains, but you may get some slight torque and power gains lower down in the rev range. Most people who get them seem to be pleased, they're not that expensive and last for ages without needing cleaning...
Early S3's were 210bhp. latter ones although called 225s actually only put out about 220 in reality. I was looking into getting one of these at the time I got my 182. Nice cars, the thing that put me off was the dull steering and lack of chuckability. More of a cruiser really IMO. The 0-60 times...
A 5-speed has 5 forward gears, a 6-speed has 6 forward gears. You don't count reverse.
I reckon it could have used a 6 speed because even if you redline it in first and change to second it drops below the 5250rpm valve-timing change, slowing it down.
Apparently you can get it from some Total garages but I'm not sure if they stock the 5L bottles or just 1L top-ups.
You can also get it directly from Total Bulter: call 01977 603363 and ask for Debra Hallas and she will sort you out apparently. You may have to buy quite a large quantity though.
He wasn't VERY old, but probably just on the wrong side of young!! Short hair, slightly balding, didn't get a good look so who knows. It looked very much like the pictures I've seen before of that beast (the car, not mike!) and I know he's Reading area-ish.
Black and white both look really good. What colour is your car by the way, because my choice would depend on that.
I think turbines are old school cool as f**k!
Hang on a second. Isn't all the factory fill oil for Renault Elf - hence the Elf stickers on the car and Renault recommends Elf in the handbook.
After that it is up to the franchise dealers what they put in the car come service time, but I would have assumed that when the car is new it would...
Near the TGI roundabout in Reading. Silver Mk1 with stickers, carbon fibre air intakes, nice buckets, sounded seriously potent!
I was stuck in traffic going in the opposite direction! Anyone got a picture to confirm?
So it's been improved in every way............except it's less enjoyable to drive?
Glad I didn't bother hanging on for the new Renault Sport version with vague steering. Why do they bother with all this electro-vario b****cks, when it takes so much feel and enjoyment away from the drive?
They should put the oil in that they recommend in both the Renault handbook and Renault magazine IMO, or at least give you the option to put this oil in if you don't mind paying a bit extra.
Day - you're right and wrong. The engine won't stop running, and it won't blow up (at least in the...
Near Reading, Berks. I really want to avoid Renault in future because I know that they just try and bang through the jobs as quickly as possible with no real care or pride. Just feel like I have to.
Had a very disappointing experience with a Renault Dealership today (see Dealerships section if interested), but I kind of knew from past experiences that people don't really care, won't look after your car, and just try and fob you off.
I also noticed today at this Dealership that they say...
