it starts slipping. To test, put in 5th at 30 and floor it. if the revs spike quickly and the speed stays the same, chances are its slipping. Otherwise, it will probably be ok. Remember that clios tend to have very high bite points anyways.

the immobiliser is disabled by the transponder system in the key which does not require batterys as it recieves power to activate from the radio signal sent out from the ring around the ignition barrel. The copper coil bit on the chip in the key pics it up. iirc.
