Ok, so the whine is definately from the cam belt area. Possibly then aux tensioner too tight? If so, is it a big job to slacken it off a bit?

Dont think it does mate, if it does i cant hear it over the engine. Its not really loud..........just noticeable when dipping clutch to change gear or sitting idle with window down and revving it a bit. Dunno if its me being a ***** or what?

I have a whine coming from somewhere at the front. Noticed it about a week ago, and im pretty sure i never heard it before then. Seems to be noisier after a cold start, however its still there, and is more noticeable when dipping the clutch and lifting off accelerator. Idle and in neutral if...

Just done the thermostat and took it for a spin, all seems good now. Guage gets to bang on half way and stops there, also dunno if its a placebo thing, but car feels alot smoother.

Ahh one more thing. I mentioned the coolant was changed about 4 weeks ago. So, would i really need to flush it all out, or just replace what i lose and bleed yeh?

I have noticed a whiff on start up.

Another thing i noticed. Popped the bonnet open after i'd been out and the top hose of the radiator was fecking hot, couldnt touch it for more than a second or 2.

Well im getting pretty crap mpg, around 26mpg too and from work, around the doors etc. Im guessing sluggish performance is a symptom also, as my car definately doesnt feel as lively as i think it should?

Picking up a thermostat on saturday from the stealers, will see if that fettles it. Would there be any other symptoms from a shafted thermostat?

Phew thanks. Ordered one from the stealers earlier and he asked me if i wanted the housing also, i said no, then later thought s**t im not sure. Hopefully it sorts my guage prob. Cheers.

Replacing mine tomorrow to hopefuly sort out my temp guage hardly budging. Do i need just the thermostat, or the housing aswell? Ta.

Been doing some reading regarding the above. Ive noticed lately that my temp gauge will only hit half way when it sits running idle. If im driving anywhere it will only sit around 3 bars at the most, dipping just under sometimes, and it never spikes up or down. Just after some clarification...

Hahah yeh:o. The bolt heads are still there, the ones i can see anyway, so guess its not that ^^. I'll check them to see if there nipped up ok. So if they are ok its more than likely the rocker cover seal? Is that a big job then? Also, for some reason i never thought of searching this, have...

Actually, i have a feeling it might be sheared bolts as the oil is only pooling around 2 of the bolts......from what i can see.
