Well either way, I think a few of us have read your build and jumped onto DriftWorks recently (y)
Looking forward to seeing the progress on the beam though , that's the one job I'm dreading!
I picked up an Arcan 3T one from Costco last year. Its a heavy thing but sturdy and goes under most low cars I've tried.
I can't knock it for the price
The boot panel got a bit of a tidy too. I bought some thinner foam to kill the rattles and it’s done the job.
the top layer of foam had to be removed though as the clips wouldn’t ‘catch’. It’s certainly an improvement though.
I’m still putting off the heater matrix change. Mainly because I haven’t bought a new rad yet, nor have I decided if I want to replace the coolant pipes with silicone ones.
I’m undecided about picking up the MTC pipes or spending the extra and going for the Forge coolant pipes. I run forge...
Ive just started on the passenger of mine tonight and they come up well.
I forgot to take a before pic, but here’s the drivers side for reference.
And the side I’ve just ground back.
Admittedly, this side wasn't as bad but there was a fair amount of surface rust.
Top man, cheers (y)
You're a brave man tackling that fuel filler area. Seems stupidly flimsy!
The car looks great though, those carbon brake ducts are rather nice.
I'm only halfway though reading this thread, but top work on this @RustyMojo
I've bookmarked this for reference with the corrosion spots as I'm due to get mine up on jackstands soon to treat under the sideskirts, arches and bumper brackets. What did you use to treat it, Hydrate 80 and then a...
Well the weekend was a no go to do the heater matrix as the weather was awful, so I did the sane thing and bought more car parts. It’s going up on jack stands soon and I’ll spend a long weekend doing everything that needs done.
So, to add to the ever growing list of parts:
A set of Pro-Am...
Tell me about it.
One of the previous owners of my 182 did a rear wiper delete. To be fair, it’s a tidy job, but it’s awful in anything other than dry weather.
If it was a daily, I’d be putting the rear wiper back on ASAP.
On that note, Kill All Wiper sticker are hideous.
Yep, just plug and play.
How long were you getting out of your GTechniq Ceramic coating before they were starting to Haze? I’ve been looking at this to seal one of my set of lights.
I did a bit of digging a while back as mine are the same. They xenons are no longer available new from Renault.
The standard halogen headlights are still available new from Hella though.
Your best bet would be to find a decent set of none hazy lights from here or eBay and religiously keep on...
I’ve got a new heater matrix to fit in the coming weeks, so I’m refreshing the cooling system while I’m at it.
My radiator is in ok condition but for the sake of £70, it’s make sense to fit a new one while I’ve got the coolant pipes off etc.
Can you fit a new rad without disturbing the...
I’m looking at sorting my rear beam in the next few months. Is there a specialist place who will do this or is it just a case of tackling it yourself and sending it off for powder coating?
I'm looking at 10mm PMS slip on front spacers as I've got the 16mm hubcentric and they are a touch too wide.
Is there still enough hub protrusion to locate the wheel on with the 10mm set?
I'm running ET40 16" Speedline Turrinis.
If it's a bit dicey, I'll just get the 5mm set.
Still snowed under here so the Heater Matrix, engine mounts and Inlets probably won’t be done until next weekend now.
In the mean time, I bought a front bonnet seal as mine went missing.
I need to adjust the fitment of my bonnet too as the shut line around the headlights is awful. In fact...
Tell me about it :ROFLMAO: His daily is spotless, cleaner than most ‘show cars’
I’ve been looking at Recaro Pole positions thanks to that thread. Must resist...
110% this. After reading this over the last few nights, my list of jobs for mine has just about doubled in size.
The car looks amazing though. Great attention to detail and choice of subtle mods.
All the bits from Max at MS Custom Engineering were dropped off last week. Very impressed with the work. Sorted my knackered throttle body for free too. Top bloke.
Bought a new upper engine mount and upper gear box mount while I was at it. New gaskets for all the above too.
Just need to wait...
Looks lovely on the silver Team Dynamics, the more I see running them the more I want a set to run on mine in the summer.
the BMS shifter is great isn’t it! (y)
RPD came through with the Heater Matrix. Landed on my doorstep yesterday as they had to order iT from overseas. Hopefully it stops pissing it down outside this weekend so I can swap it out.
I spent an afternoon sorting my xenons too. I’ve currently got standard MK2 Clio non xenons in and they...
Just finished reading this. Well done mate, seriously impressive work.
It’s given me a bit of motivation to sort the rear beam out on mine as it was a little crusty when I did a suspension refresh last summer.
Love the 2118’s. Will look mega on them!
Have you checked the black bungs next to the rear light clusters are in tight? Mine were loose and would let water in. Soaked the rear carpets. Sealed up with tiger seal and I’ve not had a problem since.
Might be worth checking your door seal too? No sure if it would just let water into the...
Just a quick update. Long overdue as usual!
Lots of bits and bobs have been done recently.
Snappy re-trimmed the original wheel. What a difference it’s made.
I’ve got a new set of top mounts to go on the car once the weather is better as mine are a little old. May fit some camber bolts to...
