well been driving with it for the day now, and i am getting used toit, i still think the ball part is too big, so will definately have to get a different knob for it. but gear selection is firmer/easier, especially(sp) reverse, reverse i so much easier and shorter, very nice. think i will grow...

if urs is the shape i am thinking off, the covers just kinda pull off, then u need star shape thing to unscrew the speakers, and wires should be behind it
dunno, havn't rang renault yet, they told me mine have lots of play when i had the mot, can't remember exactly what they said it was, but i presume if they are worn it will let the wheel wobble !! says on the mot thing at home what they are - some mechy will probably tell u b4 i go home.

to be honest when i compared the 2 whilst fitting it, their is only about 1" difference in length. looks and feels more !! Also i wanted to post some pics of one fitted as i couldnt' find any pics anywhere :)
i might just buy the longer top thing for it, the stick thing instead of that ball, that will make it higher.
I havn't had it crunching yet, dont' think it will make my shifts any quicker as i gotta lean down to grab it ;) LOL, but does seem to make gear selection nicer and firmer.

Fitted my 172 B&M quickshifter lastnight.
Instructions weren't very good. i found it easier to remove the whole of the plastic gearleaver surrounding (4 bolts underneath, unbolt the cat/centerpipe joint only) then stick it in the vice and easily remove the circlip with some pliers, then fitted...
