I've got a job, but i walk to work, which is why i wont bother taking the Clio out in the snow. If i had to drive to work I would, I'd just go steady and *touches wood* I've been OK the last 6 years (without having winter tyres).
TBH i'm more worried about someone else crashing into me when...
Yeah, not really surprised.
went to see a black 182 at a renault garage before i bought mine (just wanted a go in it really) was on 41K but they wanted £4995 for it, said they wouldn't drop a penny. Asked them a few questions and it was due a cambelt / aux kit and had no service history and...
Personally I'd avoid brokers (flux, sky insurance etc) all fine until you need to claim or cancel and they are very funny about what car's they insure if you ever want to swap over your policy.
I'm with Admiral which are fine and they were also the cheapest @ £630 FC on my 182. That's with me...
Have you replaced it with a genuine Renault fixing kit? As the after market / non genuine ones aren't up to the job (odds are you're exhaust place have used a cheap and nasty one)
If not replace it with a proper Renault part, make sure its all tight (don't use paste on this joint either) if its...
I have a scorpion fitted to mine.
It looks and sounds OK but the build quality is questionable. I've just had to have the centre section welded up after Steve from Birchdown told me it had a few splits in it. Said it was the second one that month he'd seen like that.
Might be of use for someone on here

I'm not going coilovers as i'm not 17 and don't use the car on track. I will be lowering it though, probably on Sportlines. I'm also going to change the tyres to 205/45/16's (they are 195's now) when they need replacing which should close the arch gap.
That picture was taken just after i'd...
I'd rather have white stripes than slightly different shade of blue stripes.
I can share the pain with your car. I took off a nasty irmsher badge on my GSI turbo to find out it was covering a 4" scratch!
Getting pissed off that your pressure washer isn't working, kicking it in down the drive a fit of rage then finding out its not plugged in then plugging it in to find it doesnt work anymore :(
Had my RB about 3 months or so now and im not sure whether or not I like the stripes on it. I cant help thinking it would look a lot cleaner without the white stripes on it but I don’t want to take them off and then regret it as I've heard it’s a ballache to put them on.
The other issue is the...
Its common sense though. Sell your car needing new tyres, brakes etc and buy one that just had it done. You could do this the other way round, sell the 200 needing all this doing and buy a 1*2 with everything done, or buy a cheaper one and sort the niggles out.
A loan is a much better prospect though as you wont have to pay a lump sum and the end and you will own a car at the end of it.
The little things you mentioned (exhaust, tyres, brakes) are irrelavant really as you would have to pay for these consumables (maybe not exhaust) on any car new or...
I don't want to sound like I'm arguing but surely the £2400 a year he would be saving on finance payments (which would be lost in depreciation anyway) would cover any random costs and leave you plenty left over?
Disagree. My 182 does almost 40mpg, cost £245 a year to tax (instead of over £400 for the 200 IIRC) not sure on insurance but its only £630. I don't have monthly repair bills of over £200, I actually own the car and i paid just over £3k for it so dont have to worry about crippling depreciation...
This thread has just made me really glad I haven't got a car on the drip.
Its all well and good saying that it only costs £200 a month - it doesn't that's before tax, fuel & insurance (all of which will be more than on a 182 / similar older car) You also need to factor in depreciation and that...
