    Slight misfire, no eml...

thanks guys. ive pm'd @NorthloopCup and im also waiting for an auto electrician to call me back. if @MicKPM wasnt so far away and i could trust it to get there i would take it to him, but its not worth the risk of getting stuck miles from home. fingers crossed it will be sorted soon. :/

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Fingers crossed someone can help and it won't cost a lot. I'm running out of money, patience and interest now unfortunately. Hope to get it sorted though asap as I'm stuck without a car.

It did do, but since disturbing it the gauge sways like a drunken sailor!! Lol I would do if I had the ability, plus it disappears straight into the hard bit of the loom.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Think I might have found the problem and now I've barely got it running at all. Yes those are bare wires just as they enter/exit the wiring loom. Coolant sensor wiring too. :( @MicKPM is that something you've seen and dealt with before? Just wish you were closer!! Getting to hate this car now!!

Just on the off chance I purchased and fitted a genuine blue Renault tdc. It runs a little better however touching the wires makes it cut out. Interestingly some monkey has been here before, the old tdc was a blue plugged spurious part and a replacement blue wiring loom has been fitted although...

Low/rough idle 500-600 RPM Clio 172?? Recent coil pack, leads and sparks...

If it does it when cold and hot does that point to the cts?

    Davys 172 Flamer!

Fair enough mate. Not criticising at all, just would get on my nerves looking at it and not sitting on it.

    Davys 172 Flamer!

Looks awesome mate, well done for getting it fitted. Though why not fit the drivers first then the passengers? I'd be jealous of any passengers sitting in the recaro before me. Lol

    Rojer's 182

Is get some power flex exhaust mounts and straighten the exhaust up first. ;)

My Saab 9-3 Tid (120) Vector Sport

To be fair it's not a massive job to sort out and most have probably been done already as it's widely known in the engines

My Saab 9-3 Tid (120) Vector Sport

The 120 is also more reliable and easier to work on than the 150. The 150 are prone to the intake manifold (I think) breaking up where as the 120 doesn't have the problem. Only issue I had with mine was the alternator went, I managed to change it myself and I can not do mechanical things!!

My Saab 9-3 Tid (120) Vector Sport

Very nice car mate. I had one with the same engine and i enjoyed the drive. Such quality really. Good luck with the sale!!

    Rojer's 182

Glad you got it sorted mate, and relatively cheaply too. How much was the tdc if you don't mind me asking? The bulbs look good too. I ordered some 6000k which they had no stock of and was desperate so ended up with 8000k. Nice bright light but a bit blue for my liking. They are better than the...

Low/rough idle 500-600 RPM Clio 172?? Recent coil pack, leads and sparks...

Yeah please update this once you sort it please @rupes1351 If Mick was closer I'd be taking mine there in a heartbeat. I'll find the time to get over one day soon.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

No problem, thank you. I need to find someone with clip or something that can read live data close by really. I can't see it being the lambda because since switching front to back the error which keeps coming up is now showing the rear one as a fault. However that wouldn't cause running issues...

    Curious Steering...

I would think a garage would have either a proper tool for the inner rods or would've made something. Probably a spanner head at an angle or something. I agree on the tracking though, check other bits first and then that.

Someone in Cannock/stafford to fit springs

The dampers seem reasonable condition I think, no obvious issues with them. I'll get the tracking sorted once it's all settled, I usually leave it a bit.

Someone in Cannock/stafford to fit springs

@NorthloopCup Yeah I forgot you said that. Lol. They are lowering springs, 40mm.

Someone in Cannock/stafford to fit springs

As above. Anyone fancy fitting some springs to a Clio 172 for beer tokens please? Needs to be local to Cannock/stafford ideally as fitting it around work/family etc. I can't do it with my limited tools and don't want to pay a garage a fortune to fit them. Thanks in advance.

Tyre pressures ok? These are very sensitive to the correct tyre pressures. Checking the above is a very good call.

Pics of clio with an evo seat

I had a bucket seat for the drivers seat and the rest of the seats standard in my first car, a tatty mini. Yep I totally agree. Ha

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Cat just died yesterday. Wouldn't start at all and left me stranded in the dark. Checked under the bonnet and by chance checked the coil pack plug. It wasn't sat correctly so once snapped down the car started and drove. Strange. I'm starting to think this car definately needs to be plugged into...

    Ali's Megane R26 progress

There's a place in Stafford that took the centre box off my 182 and Abarth for £40. Aa silencers.

    Abs sensor

I have yes, worked perfectly fine. I can't find the exact item I purchased as it was a while also when I had my last 172 but it was a cheap abs sensor off eBay. Just make sure the plug matches and be prepared for a fight with the old one out of the hub!!

    Cannock/Stafford wheel bolt drill out

Just ordered a blow torch too so I'll give some heat a try when that arrives. There's little left, I wondered whether to keep going and remove the head that way but thought better of it. Lol

    Cannock/Stafford wheel bolt drill out

Well got myself a cold chisel, small one, had a go and all it was doing was eating the bolt. No movement at all no matter how I hit it, or how many times I moved the chisel and tried different angles. Gutted!! Is my only option now to drill it? Carbide drill bit?

    Cracked screen

I changed a 5 screen which was surprisingly easy. However the screen I purchased was cheap and didn't last long really before being hard to use. (Either that or I messed up) get someone else to do it. There's always people on bookface who do it.

    Slight misfire, no eml...

Took the spark plugs out today to show how they look. Apart from the ring of rust around the base of the ceramic, they seem ok but the car still runs lumpy. Can anyone 'read' spark plugs? @bloke or any other resident experts.
