Just MOT'ed it the other day, got a few bits left to do, then it'll be up for sale. Need to get cracking with it but some other cars need to be done first. I keep slowing it down, see below lol.
This morning, went down to Southampton to buy this little beast.
Bonnet's popped.
Its pretty...
Hello!
I had this issue. Pluging them in the wrong way round will cause issues, ABS unit will end up pulsing the wrong brake, not ideal!
What I did, was plug in the sensors at the back, then swap the pins round at the plug near the subframe at the front. Meant I can keep Sport ABS sensors...
Few little bits to update here.
Came home yesterday to find my drivers wing mirror hanging off, Had parked the car on the road as my driveway was full of Clios etc.
Luckily, quick call to dmallett had me sorted, even inc bacon! Good as new.
Much lols were had.
On the way home, Car...
Ah fair enough.
Could well be lower cambelt cover, although they shouldn't of had that off doing the PAS pump?
As me and Scott know from looking through his big collection of freshly plated bolts, its a pain figuring where everything comes from, even when you know lots of them.
Seen loads of aftermarket ones leak and fail quite early.
I'd check condition of it when aux belt is removed, but ultimately leave until it is noisy or leaking. They manage severe mileage.
I think you're over worrying about it. My brother spends a month a year in the US and always brings back expensive items without issue, inc iPads and his last two iPhones.
Same as normal seats, easiest to get underneath and remove the four 4 13mm bolts per seat. Two under rubber covers near the sills, other two in exhaust tunnel.
To paint a vague picture, I'm looking to buy a Clio, Its described as ropey, so I'm not expecting it to get me home.
I don't currently have breakdown cover, have always previously relied on friends and family, or towed/trailered cars I've been uncertain about.
However, as I plan to collect...
You can still run a Diesel lean, or bloody rich. Any black smoke is rich, Off boost a bit is acceptable, on boost it shouldn't smoke at all. My Black DCi (Overlay remapped) smokes constantly, only slightly, but it annoys me.
EGT sensors are great on Diesels, as you can keep an eye on whats...
If thats a live map, and not a overlay map, that is good. I got quoted £230 by a specialist, without RR.
Overlay maps can cause richness, and leanness, Morso the former, but still not right!
Have fitted entire new topmounts, inc new springs to a Clio, and rather than the new style top mounts solving knocking (Not that there was one there before!), I have actually devloped a knocking. Its 100% definitely top mounts.
I've not had this issue before, and its bloody annoying.
I want to...
No need to do any of that, this is a TSFI DSG. Have got most of it off, just need to get engine mount off, cambelt off and turbo off before head comes out. Its had one of the cam pulleys (chain end) fall apart.
Luckily, I hope that won't be my job!
We have the correct locking tools for all of it, so hopefully that'll solve half of the issue. My mate has a dial gauge anyway.
Not even got it stripped yet, I hate working on stuff for the first time.
Tonight has been very busy...
Dr Jekyll, much appreciated came round to give me a hand with a couple of bits, and keep me sain while messing with many cars. Just before he left, a complaint was made about Serv light and the dash flashing Oil etc... Most of you know where this is going... Not...
Been a bit slack here recently, Haven't been taking pictures, nor had anybody to take pictures for me.
I have a couple of pictures from today...
Had the rear bumper off the Black DCi to fit the missing foam, unacceptable to be missing IMO, plus the bumper didn't sit right.
And also, arch...
